hiding cell number?

ok this happened to me....

someone calls and all i see is "call" not the usual name or number.
it isnt an international call
it isnt a call made from a private number
it isnt a call from a pay phone
we cant turn off numbe sending in our network...its default to send and subscribers cannot change it

we have hints that it is a local cellphone

i heard theres a software out there that can do this, you guys have any clue..on software or anything that makes this possible.

 There is no apps that i know which can do this so far... anyway in my country, you can request it from your network operator to do this... (i did..) and also from some public phone here when u make a call, the receiver will not get any number but just "CALL"...

In the UK you can force it by putting 040 before the number you dial, or use an option on the phone to not sent your own number. I thought that was standard worldwide.

TMobile here in the states does not support hiding Caller ID. Only the specific phone supports it and it is on a call by call basis. Here the code is #31#.

Same here in Finland, either you can set it up from the phone or you put a prefix in front of the number you are calling to, to avoid showing your caller ID.

not here in the philippines....our networks lock the send number on calling by default so no amount of changing in the phone or puttin in leading codes works. ive tried those hehe.

so it must be
1) software
2) netmonitor setting?
3) inside job....meaning you ave a friend in the telecoms company that can, we assume, turn off the default for your account
4) it might indeed be an international call..which i doubt...but hey anythings possible

but i go with number 1..software...there must be something out there..tried searching but to no avail.

its so weird because if you sont answer the phone the number really wont appear even in the lists (missed, received)....
