hi how many ppl have the new firmware 3.44 or 3.43 whichever it is. and whts the diff with the new one ? has the speed increased yet ? its out for sure dont know wht countries have it yet.

domi tht must be 3.42.1 right ? well i guess thats the old one now. i think 3.44 is the newest will take time to go global but i hope they fix the problems. thx for the info neways. neone with the latest fw

I am new on NOkia. How would the new firmware get upgraded. Do I have to bring the phone to a shop or can the user do it himself by downloading/uplodading etc.

Sahli, you have to take your phone to the Nokia service shop for the firmware upgrade. Firmware (OTA)- Over the Air is not possible for Nokia phones.

Heard someone said that the new firmware for 6600 wont let us use n-gage games on our 6600.

i am the one doubting that we can play ngage games after the new FW. but i dunno for sure. hope we can do that in the near future as well. nokia shud jus make them like it can be played on ne console then the ngage. nokia will push sales of ngage games only like that. lets wait and watch. i dont have 6600 yet . so ill wait till jan and see wht fw phone to get, old or new. ive played ngage games on the 6600 and they rule the added advantage is the 65k color screen than ngage's 4k screen. 😃

i am having v 3.42.1 english but i want it in dutch
anyone knows where i cant find the firmware and is it possible to flash the unit trough irda ?

You cant flash the phone yourself, its done in a Nokia Service Center.

None of them are good.
The latest version is 3.48 but it's a BETA.It's supposed to come out sometime in FEBRUARY 2004 but not sure.

inox how can u get it flashed. acc. to sparxxx he works in nokia says its out in feb 04. wht country are u from . also can u test and tell me if ngage games are still playable on it or no . and whts the Firmware dated as well. thx

Mine is 3.42.1, bought it at the beginning of december (Belgium). I have a feeling this firmware has still too many bugs. For example regaring sms reports, sometimes sms reports reappear after restarting the mobile. I also sometimes get a sms warning tone if I receive a sms report...

What hardware/software do they use to upgrade the firmware? I know they only do this at a Nokia service center, but I was just wondering how they do this...

Inox where did u flashed your phone?
Cause no Nokia Service Center will do that for you cause it's still a BETA.If u did please falsh it back to 3.42 cause your phone will suffer becuase of many bugs in 3.48.
The 3.48 is not faster.Maybe it will be but right now it's just a BETA.New firmware release will be some time in february and maybe it will be other version than 3.48.

not very cheap not very exp. either. can u try the ngage games on it if u can. also can i have a screen shot of the version. so basically at this point nothin is new, cuz spaxxx says its comin in feb then how cum u have it now. are u in nokia as well ?
