my 9210 pda screen turned blank after falled into water, other function including the phone work normally.the guy at service center of the monopolised operator here in bangkok said that he could not help. i did not entirely believe him in his knowledge and deligence, SO could any one have any suggestion?

That comes under accidental damage and as such not covered by Nokia's warranty. Some retailers in this country offer extra insurance for your mobile that makes extends to cover accidental damage but that is the only way it would be resolved. Unless you have an extra insurance policy, your only option is to take it to a Nokia Service Centre and explain what happened, and hope they don't charge too much to repair it.

More to the point it's actually damaged caused by liquid entry. The chances are that no repairer will actually touch this. Water is pretty evil suff with lots of trace chemicals that disolve certain componetns, especially solder and the surface skin on circuit boards.

A lot of repairers (Psion included) will not touch any liquid entry damage because there are too many problems, and invariabley the whole unit will eventually neeed replacing. Hence your only real option is to (a) claim on accidental damage insurance or (b) bu a new one.

Sorry.

If you're about to buy a new one ... there is one trick ... I learned it from a electronics teacher one's, but the succes rate is 50%.

Disconnect the battery and then drop the whole phone into
that special kind of water (that water that they use in labs with everything stripped out, "destilate water???""gedestileerd water"😉 let it lay in there for a day or so. Then get it out and let it dry for 2 days. And then cross your fingers.

it worked once with a old phone of mine ... but well who knows.

Remember to disconnect the battery(don't drop that in the water) and be shore not to use normal water in any circuimstance.

Good luck

I know this worked with a ZX Spectrum 48K and some Coca-Cola.

Bless my dad, although I had a heart attack when he pulled the machien away and dunked it in his sterile water he was using for Home Brew Cider...

Speccy is still working

😮 oh wow... this i got to really try one day... heheheh...

anyway, regarding the liquid damage (thats the term they use here...), it did happen to me before and yeah it sucks that they dont/will not touch the phone... it happened to my 9110... being in a hot country, i was using it outdoor and one drop of my sweat entered the board and screwed everything... sound ridiculous huh??? believe it...

thats why nowadays with my 9210 i will use handsfree during some steamy moments... 😉
