offfline mode question???

Theoreticallyyes, but individual cabin crew have the final say. If they say turn it off, you haven;t really got much chance.

Entering offline mode means in practise sw reset to mode without gsm stack and hw devices underneath with Bluetooth set off by sw. However, while in offline mode it is still possible to activate Bluetooth and FM radio, both of which might be against regulations depending on airline in question. Difference in transmitted peak rf power is quite big between online and offline (~1w vs ~10mW).

ok so is there a way to make the phone work without a sim card??
No, but offline mode forces the GSM radio off entirely.

How do i get the phone in offline mode(Flight mode)? Still a newbie with n-gage!

Push the power button and choose 'Offline' and phone asks do you want to activate it, answer yes and phone will boot into the offline mode.

Actually you can use your phone without a Sim Card using PSILOC's System Tools. At least it works on 7650 and 3650 (didn't test it on N'Gage).
