Yes you can see his Picture, but naturally you have to save the picture in his contact-card in your phone before.
I can't get that function to work. I put a image into my friend's contact card and when she phones she don't come up. Does my phone not like my friend or am I doing something wrong?
You need to add a miniature, not a picture to the image page of the card. Do a modify, then a "add miniature" on your friend's card. That one had me stumped at first, too.
You can add any kind of picture,it does not have to be a miniature,it can be a standard high quality picture,you just have to use the add thumbnail option in contacts menu
You're right, it is just that I have the portuguese version, where thumbnail is translated to miniature.

When you add the thumbnail to the contact does it copy the picture to the contact and so meaining i have two of the same picture taking up memory or is it just a link to same on memory?
I think it copies a new image cos when I put in a thumbnail, I deleted the original image and when the person called me I could still see the thumbnail come up.
pictures go in the file "contacts.db" like on the 9210. You can safely delete the big image.
i have a similar problem too... i have a contact with two phones: mobile and work. But the pic only appear in the mobile. in the work phone, it only appears the number (not even the name) and no pic.. strange, no? and by the way, i realised that if you delete the image of your contact it still appear in the contact list. does this mean we are saving memory?? thanks in advance
yes,it save memory. for contact picture it use thumbnail file, the original image serve no purpose not used anymore.

That usually means you have that same number under another contact, so the phone cannot choose what contact to display.
