HELP ME!!! Operator Logo will not change!!!

12 replies · 4,745 views · Started 31 August 2002

I tried to change my operator logo using efile-manager.
I downloaded a logo for my operator(eplus Germany),renamed it, and put it into the folder c:system/apps/phone/oplogo.
After restart there is no change in the operatorlogo on top of the display...
I dont know what i could have done wrong, so please help me out!!!
Thank you

You need to check the filename according to your network/country.

See this thread -> http://www.allabouter6.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1273 where Rafe has provided a comprehensive list.

This is odd but may prove to be an answer to some of you;

This problem may depend on how you switch off your phone.

Problem
When I switch the phone off using Power -> Switch Off!, I lose the logo when I switch back on and the ordinary Vodafone logo appears.

Solution
When I switch off by pressing and holding the power buttong, I get my fancy logo back when I switch on.

Of course, this does assume you have the right filename for your logo in the correct folder (directory for those of us old enough to remember DOS).

I have downloaded the logo-file and it has the correct name for my provider(262_03_0.bmp)....It is in the right(?) folder also, but it doesnt work! I tried nearly everything now,but nothing happened....

hi, not sure if this can help for i dont have actually tried it...

ive read from some thread before -- you gotta ommit the "zeros" on your operator codes for the BMP file.

😊

I'm getting the same problem. After uploading the OpLogo, i get the text with the operator name on top. It seems like some simcards (mine for sure), have a field that contains the operator name hardcoded. The phone sw checks for it, and if present, it overrides any bitmaps uploaded in the OpLogo folder. I used a foreign card, that has roaming on my operator, and it shows up the logo. I haven't found an workaround for this yet :-?

I have found that the op logo is sent to the phone from the phone network, it doesnt seem to be code onto the sim. The reason why i say this is because whenever I am in a area where there is no service the op logo disappears... just a idea, but i havent tried changing the logo yet...

Hi, I don't find 262_3_0.bmp in the list of telco in the posting http://www.allabouter6.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1273 maybe u want to try all the other 3 262_1_0.bmp, 262_2_0.bmp or 262_7_0.bmp.
I also heard that prepaid simcard might have problem displaying logo.
Good luck 😉

The Problem was the 0 in front of the 3 (262_(0)3_0.bmp !!!
I deleted the 0 and now i am a very lucky man!
Now i need a new challenge,i think....

Greetings from Germany

I need help.... Despite I follow KaiChen's new found discovery method, I still can't view my operator logo by following the steps...

my oplogo is 525_1_0.bmp singtel... any advise?

is your bmp size 97*25. If yes, I do suspect that for singtel line, they have this GSM900 and GSM1800 thing. The last time my phone always switch between the 2 depends on which signal you phone pick up. So, I suggest your create 2 files, 1 525_1_0.bmp and 2nd 1 525_2_0.bmp. That's exactly what I did for when I was in malaysia. I hav created different files for different telco cos during roaming, if you set your network selection auto, it will change channels depends on which signal stronger. Hope this will help.
