I live in Toronto Canada. This summer while i was on vacation, i bought the 7650 in Beirut. Is there any way i can change the reception band from 900/1800 to 1900? which is what i need to work it here

It's impossible to change the frequency band that the phone works on. It is a hardware issue rather than a simple software one. I'd reccomend you sell the phone on ebay (UK prices are typically higher than most so try ebay.co.uk) and use the money to buy a SonyEricsson P800 in a few weeks time. It's a very very similar device in terms of functionality but it it's triband, meaning you will get it to work in Canada. Waiting for a 7650i seems a little pointless i'm afraid, as I don't believe it'll materialise (on general release) within the next 6-9 months, if ever.
