It depends if you want a PDA that acts like a phone (XDA II) or a phone that acts like a PDA (P900)? XDA is better for PDA functions but you've gotta decide if you really need all those functions or is size more important? The only thing that still gives me reservations about the P900 is the crappy Duo memory and it's 128Mb limit.
As for price, I think both of these phones are free at the link on certain tariffs but good luck finding a store with some in stock. I'm not sure if The O2 shops are still giving away the XDA2 free with 45 contracts but I know they've stopped the P900 promotion.
Update: XDA II m no longer part of the Link free phones offer
comparision between p900, treo600, & XDA II, You can take the decision. http://computertimes.asia1.com.sg/reviews/story/0,5104,1585,00.html
Hi,
First of all, this is not my advice. Just my opinion:
1. i hate pocket pc.
2. i hate using pda as a phone.
i chose P900 just because:
1. i love symbian. (well, thats why we're here!)
2. i love using a phone with pda... a smartphone... a P900.
Actually wat symbian all about? can someone brief me on this.
and wat is UIQ??
i really have no idea.
is symbian a games or something??
Symbian is the core OS (www.symbian.com).
UIQ is the "interface/GUI" that runs on top (www.uiq.com).
Regarding the P900 versus the XDA II, as I see it:
Pros for the XDA II:
Pros for the P900:
So, it's just a matter of preferences/needs. I chose the P900 based on my preferences/needs, you choose what fits your bill. It would be a hell of alot easier for us to help you make a decision here, if you actually told as a little something about just that (what you want/need in a PDA-phone).
hmm on the p900 Box it simply stated it's simpy a smarter phone LOL
just think about this if u think Windows rules then buy PDA else buy P900
😃
I chose P900 to replace my phone and iPAQ3870.
I hate Pocket PC since it crashes and hangs too often. Worst is when the iPAQ completely darins itself of battery and wipes out everything inside. This happens about 3 times a month. Also, I couldn't get the bluetooth to work with a phone.
As for P900, the only problem I've had is Not enough memory error, which is minor.
[*]Better sync (I'm only assuming this)
Actually ActiveSync is pants.
You can't sync with Public Folders for a start
