Disable startup sound

I dont know how to do this but i am interested to know why you want to????????
Mine doesnt work most of the time anyway!

Only way I know of: Switch to the Silent profile.

However, the startup tune doesn't really bother me that much (even if I don't particularly like it either), because I don't turn off my phone at all (unless absolutely necessary).

It's good to restart your mob at least ones a day to reboot ....😉

I echo the view of others here....

Why would you want to delete the startup sound ?

Do you sit on the train, or in a restaurant rebooting your phone all day long, or some other weird behaviour ?

Same here. I suspect those user-installed apps which add a "startup" process on reboot is responsible for cutting off the startup jingle.

No, I'd just like to be able to turn it off. I do sit on the train into and out of London, and prefer not to advertise that I have a new & nick-able phone to the shifty buggers that always seem to get on at Staines...

Just set an image as a startup and there'll be no such sound.

I find the tone played at startup bloody annoying. Would want to delete it just for that, which is reason enough tbh.

active desktop has an option to disable startup sound but i don't know if it works

The startup sound rarely plays properly on my 6600 anyway.
All i get is about 3 notes normally, so is disabled as default 😃 😃

I think that may refer to an Active Desk start up sound? Anyway, I have it diasbled and it still plays the Nokia start up sound.

I have an image set as startup ("Welcome note or logo" under Settings-->Phone-->General) and the Nokia sound plays on start up.

This starting logo is really annoying! It doesn�t meter when and how I reboot my telephone. What is important is that starting logo is making me nervous. So is there any solution how can I disable it? Or is it another NOKIA bug?

What I hate is the damned recogs and the fact that all I hear is part of the jingle. It's like whenever I have to restart my mobile with friends sitting nearby my mobile starts playing the jingle and then stops mid-way. Everybody gets a laugh out of it... 😃

If you have the sim password option turned on, then after you enter your password wait a bit before pressing enter. The jingle needs time to buffer before playing 😮 !

It would be nice to find the file(e.g. fexplore) put it on your computer and put your own animation to it.(e.g. i have no idea what program though, perhaps a flash editor) 😎

I think you have to switch off warning tones in general profile.
Menu --> Tools --> Profiles --> General --> Personalise --> Warning tones --> Off.

It worked for me long time ago
