N9210 - new usage

5 replies · 2,341 views · Started 09 September 2002

Have you never considered to use the 9210 as a torch?
I use it every noght going to sleep.

Here are the instructions: 😊
Open the phone
turn on your direction
activate the screen light

and you got a new torch!

When it's really dark, it's great.

Try and tell me..

Well to add some spice to the torch issue, here is Night Clock , which toggles (with any key) between a gently dimmed digital clock and a shining torch, with the bonus of a menu shortcut to the alarm app.

It's not just the next killer app for the 92x0 series, it is only my second exercise in OPL coding, but has been useful to me (hell I have to wake up at 5.30 each morning and I don't want to make too much light with my abatjour and disturb the sacred sleep of my wife! )

It made me also learn how to use makesis and bcconv. Could be enhanced by enlarging the clock font, but I don't know where to get a font bigger than 32 points in OPL.

It is not at all a competitor for Clock ER6 by Freepoc, but for some strange reason Clock ER6 doesn't like to run on my machine, and exits with an error message that shows too quickly for me to read.
