Orange Care

I am on Orange Everytime 200 and should theoretically get free Orange Care for the first year but I noticed in the small print for the package that "inclusive care is not available on smartphones".
Does anyone know if the 7650 is counted as a 'smartphone' by Orange and therefore exempt from free cover? If it is I will be very annoyed as the salesman in the Orange shop used the free insurance as a selling point. :-?

On a followup point, if this is the case, how much are Orange or other networks charging for insuring the 7650 against theft loss and damage?

The 7650 isn't counted as a smartphone. The person who took my upgrade order checked with her supervisor about this and was told it is classed as a normal phone. I called Orange directly to order my upgrade so it should be fairly reliable.

Cheers tman, thats good to know.

(btw I was the 'guest' who posted this originally)

As far as I know, only one Nokia phone is counted as a Smartphone right now; the 9210.

My flatmate has one of these on Orange. He complained about not getting the 1st year of Orange Care for free, after he had paid full price for it. They gave in and gave it to him. Be persistant! 😉

You are aware that orange stop free care after the 1st October aren't you, it will now be classed as an option.

They always wanna get mo money ! 😃

an advice stick to Vodafone or T-mobile both are gonna go next generation , but also keep a good look out on O2 they're already on top of those by the XDA technology .

I know, these r alot of choises but hey who knows what might happen next 😃 .

DON'T HATE ME :roll:

I was under the impression that Orange's free care continues on existing customer acocunts, just not on new connections from the 1st October onwards?

In answer to the first post, Orange care is 5 a month if it is notincluded in your price plan.

Slightly off topic, but still to do with phones;
On the subject of Orange stopping a service, they have finished Equity points and sent out a letter saying that their customers have stated that they prefer a better service, without Equity!

Are there any customers out there who were asked if they wanted Equity to finish?

I've not found anyone yet! 😞
