Unlocking the serial port on a Series 60 device

Hey,

I know it is possible to unlock the serial port in the emulator by modifying certain files (namely bt.esk and irda.esk) so these services don't take up the port anymore and adding a new entry into CommDb with the correct parameters. What I want to know is if it is possible to modify the CommDb on the device itself to add a record to the Modems table as we can do for the emulator.
Specifically I would like to change the CSY the modem uses to respond to a data call since it now uses IRCOMM.CSY which is not good because it tries to connect over IR when you get an incoming data call. Can somebody tell me if this is possible and if it is how does one go about it? Thanks.
