I noticed that the contact list is sorted by surename. My contact list is sync'd via my address book in my Powerbook. In there it is listed the reverse, first name, last name.
Does anyone know whether the sorting can be changed on the SX1?

Unfortunately not. This is a standard for all series60 devices. Instead you can save the first name in the last name field and the last name in the first. There is also a program that can do this swap. It's freeware...
I think it is called name swap.
You can change the name order to display on the Nokia 6600
