same problem here, i have already downloaded xvid codec (tks memphisx), whats next? so sorry, i dont know waht to do with the downloaded files... help.. pls!!!

Im not quite sure what your problem is as the probelm is pretty basic. In the latest version you can choose if you want to use the DivX codec or Xvid codec in transforming your orginal movie file.

If you use the Xvid then you will need to install the xvid codec on your phone. These codecs are all downloadable from the Smartmovie website.

Alternatively just use the Divx codec which works absolutely fine and gives a smaller file size. Open the source movie file and then hit convert and that is basically it. Sit back and wait.

Alternatively you can tweak the settings a bit. I would leave the sound settings alone but you can shift the video quality from 128 to 96kbps if you need a smaller file. You can crop the video too if it is widescreen so that it fills up more of your phones screen.

Even after tring both the codecs I still can't open any media files e.g mpeg wma or video clips CAN ANYONE HELP ME !!!!!

there are 2 codecs, the xvid one for smart movie player on your phone, and the xvid codec that smart movie converter uses on your pc, they are nothing to do with wma or anything, the videos you make on the convorter are AVI files, when you convert them you are re-encoding the video to the xvid compression method, which is why your phone needs the codec aswell to play the videos, once you have downloaded the codec install it on your computer, then in smart movie converter when on the video creation screen you will be given options such as what quality sound and what video compression method, in the list of diferent encoding pluggins you should now see xvid, so select it and get encoding! a lot of people dont seem to understand this program although i think its quite simple, first i recomend you research on the internet about what encoding is and what pluggins are and so on, then come back to the converter when you know what you are doing, otherwise your walking in the darkness and cant see...so to speak

I meant SmartMovie (assuming you already have the phone) as SmartMovie is not a free, but a commercial application (which' registration key you get when you buy the app).

how do i install smart movie player on to my nokia 6630? as it seems i can only install the smart movie convertor onto p-c....any help

The package comes with a .sis file you install on the phone (send it over Bluetooth, copy it using the USB cable, send it as an email attachment, download from a web or WAP server, install using PC Suite, for example).

i also need help finding a activation key for smartmovie. i have got a cracked version of the player. i also have had trouble with the demo that i cant move my videos frm my sim card to the MMC card, is this normal or me?
thanx
