Sorry if this has already been discussed, and I will find it hard to believe if it hasn't but what the hell is up with the camera on the 6600? As a previous owner of a 7650, the camera quality in night vision was a lot better.

On the 6600 whendoing night vision you get loads of dots over the picture, and 3 of my mates just got the same phone and have the same.

Soory abou the women in the picture but its a good example!

Any thoughts?

I have a similar problem on my 6600 with the night mode pictures. Lots of interference.

I want to know if this can/will be fixed with a future firmware upgrade or if it is a hardware problem.

interference? What from?

It does it no matter where I am.

I thought it was where the dots are trying to produce some light to brighten the picture, if you asks me it sucks.

The camera quality on a 7650 is leagues ahead of the 6600, and I thought seeing as its over a year newer it would be improved.

I would also like to know if there is any fix such as a firmware upgrade?

No fix yet, AFAIK.
I have the same problem. I have to switch to night vision and give it about 3 secs to produce some light and then shoot. If I leave it 5 or more secs it has so many ugly dots I can't even look at it anymore.

Actually, it isn't using nightvision, but nightframing. This forces the ccd of the camera to use a shutterspeed faster than needed to get enough light. the rest of the light is made through software. But it has to work with the pixels it got from the camera, the rest is "made up". So most of the time it guesses right, but when it doesn't, you get the noise you see in the pictures.

This has nothing to do with the phone, it's a typical digital camera flaw, that is even present in the most expensive types ( of course, not so much as in the cheaper models )

never happened on my 7650, and it happens on every picture on the 6600.

Most of my pics are taken in nightclubs.

Sucks.

Nokia probably used a bad lense for the 66xx,
which doesn't collect enough light.

Is the lense mentioned in the manual?
specs would be handy... having a 2.8 or a 5.6
lense already makes a hell of a differance.

Just can't believe this hasn't been complained about already.
