I can't open my contact list in my phone.
What do I do????
I have all my contacts in my outlook, so can I just delete the contact file on the SX1? Where is it then?

Please help, I am not alive without my contacts.. 😊

/Felix

The file containing the contacts is C:\system\data\contacts.cdb

Unfortunately you cannot delete/modify/replace this file because it is always open by the telephone app, but there are two ways.

Either install Psiloc System Tools or Symbianware smartlauncher.

With system tools just start up the app and select flight mode. The device will turn off. then remove the sim card and using a third party file manager (like FExplorer or Seleq) you can delete this file.

With Smartlauncher turn off the phone. Be sure that the battery is not fully charged. Plug the charger and after a few seconds press the menu button. Then like with sTools with a 3rd party file manager delete the file.

Unfortunately outlook doesnot save any thumbs/photos you had assigned to contacts,so it is better to have a backup of this file...

Did you ever try this with the SX1?
Firstly I tried this with the latest version of System Tools. (By the way the SX1 is not listed in the fully supported phones.) I can choose flight mode. Then I shut down the phone. Wehn starting up again, the phone tells me to instert the SIM...
Secondly is tried the Smart Launcher variant: Starting Smart Launcher, shutting down phone (Batt not fully charged).
Connecting with charger. I tried several occasions when I pushed the Menu Button e.g. While Boot picture, after Boot picture and when the phone is starting to charge. No effect.
So is there any way to get rid of a corrupted contacts database on the SX1?
What I tried before this was 1. a Hard Reset and 2. leaving the the Battery out for approx. 30 hours. Both had no effect.

...help please!

I forgot to mention that with smartlauncher after installing it you have to enable them. after the turning it off, pluging the charger and waiting a little you'll see the two soft buttons labels which means that the smartlauncher is running. if by pressing the menu you have no reaction try to hold it until smartlauncher's task manager come's out, and then press once the menu. It worked for me.

Now sTools is a strange occasion. It was the first app to install in order to move the contacts file from my old 7650 and it worked flawlessly BUT after installing more third party apps it stopped working with various system errors. I don't know but I have varius problems with psiloc's apps. And for some strange reason some PSILOC apps work again when I uninstall others PSILOC's apps. (for example I had some system errors with space doubler that vanished when I uninstalled eProfiles).

By the way I am glad that you solved the problem but I am just curious if this site you posted can be taken as illegal.
