Rafe,
I'm ready to buy AppMan. I would like to be a good trooper and buy it through All About ER6. However, I couldn't locate it in your Handango shop section. Can you point me in the right direction?

We haven't added it to Handango yet - we're doing it now. Tomorrow Rafe will be able to put the affiliate link to buy AppMan from Handango.
Then I'll update the link from the review tomorrow 😉

😉 Excellent choice and welcome to the Appman Club...
It came strongly recommended by somebody in this forum. Can't think who that was..... :roll:
One minor detail I have noticed is that AppMan will close Desk, Extras and the other applications triggered by the blue buttons at the top, but it won't close Internet. Is this a bug, or by design?
I've just sent an email to symbianware asking the question.
I finally decided to buy AppMan (after some initial difficulty with it), but I would like some enhancements:
1) possibility to call the Recent Files screen (or even the other screens) by a configurable key combination shortcut. Recent Files is *the* really new feature which is absent in competitors, and should be quickly reached from anywhere;
2) don't know if feasible - possibility to unload some files from the Open Files view - in order to free more ram;
3) don't know if really useful - possibility to compact ram more frequently than at 1 minute intervals. With the AVAIL app I have been compacting ram every 3 seconds, and it seems (but maybe it's a placebo effect) that my 9210 keeps running more swiftly. I'd like to do the same with appman (placebo effect makes you feel better!)
Zeus, Hera... are you listening? 😉

Internet lies that it can be closed, so AppMan ask Internet to close but Internet ignore close request. You can kill Internet (and any other app) rather then close py pressing Shift+Close.
Pardon me for being ignorant, ut why not just log the ThreadID and then kill the thread? It would work in OPL (with some help from the system.opx)

Oki, will add this feature.

This is not possible. One of the main reason - Symbian OS have a bug 😞
It don't report opened file owner. Another reason - files a re opened by some apps so even if i found a way to do this the result will be terrible (data corruption/lost).

I don't think so. Memory defragmentation require some energy & CPU time. Also defragmentation eleminate any cached information which slow down apps & file loading. I can propose you global hotkey for defragmentation.

Because this is kill (no data will saved) not close. Open Word, enter few words/chars, open AppMan and kill (Shift+Close) Word. Then open edited file again. EPOC (Symbian OS) application have special flag - possibility to close. Internet have this flag set but it is ignore close event. Actually, this is stupid design. Desk, Extras, ... don't have this flag set and AppMan don't try to close this apps, it kill them. As you can see, when you close Extras AppMan says "Emergency use only". Because this will be kill, not close. And when you close File Manager, Word, .. AppMan say "Close".
Appreciate the feedback, although I am a little confused. When I select "close file" for desk or extras, a message comes up saying "close "Desk"?". When I hit close, it does it. There is no message about "Emergency use only". Switcher (freeware) seems to be able to kill or close "Internet".
Another thing I have just seen is that when AppMan [Applications] is up you can hit the extras button and Extras comes up in the background. However, the AppMan display doesn't update to show this. Not sure whether this is important - but may be a little more so when the mod is made to show memory consumed in the top RH corner.

Instead of Switcher we always try to terminate application as safe as possible. If it's possible we automaticaly suggest Close action, if it's not we suggest Kill. Only one exception is in "Internet" app only because of its "bug" or "design".

Already done. Both. And new version is coming soon 😊

Well, this can wary on diffrent ROMs. Oki, try to close "Telefone", you will see "Emergency use only".

Press Shift+Close and Internet will be killed, beleve me 😉
Also, Switcher may check for Internet and make kill instead of close.
In my opinion, user must always know what exactly done that's why AppMan have 2 diffrenect questions (kill/close).

Allready fixed, wait for new version with many improvements. I can't release it immediatly because some new functions must be tested very ceafully.

Also done 😉
i'll be waiting for the new version 😊
For those who are interrested i've changed the buy link in the review to Handago 😉
OK, got it now - thanks. 😮ops: Please forgive me being a little slow - I'm in the category of "keen user" i.e. little technical expertise.
I'm now waiting with eager anticipation for you to release the next update 😃
And new version is coming soon 😊
