ARUGH!!! SCrewed up my SX1 once more

Can you be more specific? Does it just turns off after showing the eye (maybe making an awful sound too)? Also what happens if you plug the charger?

In any case try one of these:
Turn it on without the MMC.
Turn it on with the shift key(the one with the up arrow on the left of the C key) pressed.
Try to update/re-install the firmware...
Try to boot without the SIM card.

By the way what firmware version do you have?

Yup...... the eye then a brep... error sound..... tats so sad.!!!

tired updating to fw07... loaded without problem. still cant on the fone.
tired without mmc.. nope... doesnt work.
tried turnin it on with shift key as well.... Still not working.
tired booting without sim..... dosent work.
tried plugging charger.... wont charge... goes to the eye and shuts off.

this is so sad..... im considering to trade my sx1 off for maybe a ppc smartphone.

Juz got back my hp frm siemens service center. total time taken 5hrs!!! waited till my butt rotted frm sitting.
Found out main problem wuz frm SmartProfiles V1.05.
i tried activating it... that made me take a walk back to the center and waited for another 2hrs above the other 1st 3hrs.....

You did the best choice. By the way most of the times that this problem occurs is because of a corrupted system file on the phone and the only sollution is to format the Phone memory sth that can only be done in this current state of the phone by upgrading the firmware on a Siemens Authorised Service Center (not Self Update through Internet). Not so surprisingly when I had this problem on my SX1 (firm 06 then) I had both smartlauncher and SmartProfiles installed when suddenly while I was rearranging the icons on smartlauncher a bunch of system errors occured letting only with one sollution, restart the device. Then it was sth like your case... Right now I have none of them installed but I had two files corrupted since then. One sis file for uninstalation purposes so I could't start the manager app and psiloc.jpg on which didn't let psiloc's apps working.

By the way exchanging with a PPC (ala M$) Smartphone is not a smart choice, believe me... In my opinion the P900 is a much better choice if still thinking of exchanging it...

yeah but the current price diffrence here for the sx1 and the p900 is about 300 to 400 singapore dollars diffrence....

But the reason i wont wanna go to sony erricsson is coz of the price of memory sticks.
Its juz too expensive and it aint worth it.

Yeah the P900 is about 200-300 euros more expensive here also. But the price of Memory stick is the same as with that of MMCs here (at least when comparing non-Sony)...

By the way if you'll have this problem again try to reboot the device with the * and # keys pressed. It will format the phone memory before booting to the OS, and so solve the problem. I don't know if this combination works on firms prior to 07 though...
