Real Player Version 4

Hey everyone 😊

I've recently read that the new N-Gage QD won't be able to play MP3's out-of-the-box, and that the only solid symbian player out there is the latest version of Real Player, version 4. However, i just can't seem to find any version higher than version 3. Does anyone have a direct link for the SIS file of RealOne version 4 or at least general directions?

Best regards,

I think that version 4 of real player was only distributed to a few content developers, and you can only find it built in Nokia's 6620. Correct me if I am wrong. But don't worry the natural evolution to real one is helix player. you can find it at

https://symbian.helixcommunity.org/

It is almost identical with version 4 of realone. It also replaces realone in case either it is installed or built in your device...
One of the big advantages (previously of realone and now helix) is the very good quality sound and also the stereo output, which unfortunately I cannot confirm for N-Gage QD.

Has anyone else installed Helix Player?

When you say 'very good quality sound', do you mean compared to the original realone player already installed on my phone?

I find that you cannot turn the volume up enough on the preinstalled realone player - it is not loud enough. Is this problem fixed in Helix Player? Is Helix player louder than the preinstalled realone player?

Real Networks must have an alliance with the devil. Firstly, their RealOne Player installed on my phone is piece of crap (so is the version installed on my computer) - the volume way to low when playing back audio only .rm files. In true RealNetworks style, there will probably never be a way to fix it either. So I install Helix Player - which is piece of crap also. It has the same low (no) volume problem and makes mp3 playback sound utterly horrible. What the point of a player that is little or no use to people because you simply can't hear anything or destroys the sound quality of the mp3. Meanwhile, the volume and quality of preinstalled mp3 player (aside from the noteable lack of fast-forward/rewind function) is fantastic.

Why can't RealNetworks do anything right?

Will we ever expect something similar to a firmware upgrade of the Nokia N-gage to fix the rewind fast-forward problem and the volume issues of RealOne Player?

Wirelessly posted (Nokia N-Gage: NokiaN-Gage/1.0 (4.03) SymbianOS/6.1 Series60/0.9 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

Yeah, but Helix Player is BIG, REALLY BIG! You have to install 4 seperate files and each one is pretty big...

Does Realplayer, inbuilt in Nokia 6600 supports playlist function
