Hi,
I've checked the threads for the new fw but I couldn't find anyone complaining about some strange behaviors of the phone which I've experienced with the new OS and which I HADN'T before.
Nokia seems to continue their tradition in introducing useless sw versions for their premature phones which make them even worse.
Fixing some bugs, but adding others as well as new limitations or even restrictions..
However..
I'll mention them two of them here and I'd appreciate if some users would confirm it (or not):
1. Startup sound & image:
Startup sound is not being played up to the end. It breaks somewhere at the middle of the melody.
The animation of the shaking hands is getting locked for half of a second and then continues, just before the hands come together.
A Nokia service center has 'informed' me that they have received many complaints about that. I've been told me that it depends on the sim card since there would be a phase at startup where the phone is trying to read some data on it. Nonsens. Didn't this phase exist in the previous OS ?
I have tried it with other sim cards from my friends and nothing's changed.
2. File Manager:
Has anyone noticed during file installlation from 6600's own file manager that the 'Installation....' dialog box flashes.
In addition (also during installation) the 'Opening......' dialog box, interferes now and then. And it does not matter where the installation file is located and which memory you choose for the installation.
This has not happened to me with 3.42.1. It also seems as if the installation takes longer than with the previous OS.
Today I've tried to install a file with FExplorer. Success.
No flashing. Nothing. Stable and very fast.
(My congrats Dominique. Nokia may take some lessons from you in creating & developing a file manager app...)
There are of course many other bugs....
But none of them are acceptable.
And some even incredible...
For example menu items...
If you switch the phone to German you will notice that both 'Move' and 'Move to folder' are indicated ( in German) menu as 'Verschieben'. So you have 2 x 'Verschieben' in your menu.
Hey Nokia... What's up ?
Ozkan.
