Hi ppl! There is an IRC client released! The trial is available from
www.handago.com ! It works a treat as well! tried it! Fantastic!
Enjoy!
Damn my operator,i feel like living in the dark ages,no wap no gprs no nothing
You dont need any of these! Just your regular ISP settings and dialup number and you are ready!!!
WHAT!!!..
How ?? Can you explain.. My network doesnt support WAP or GPRS or anything.. (literally sucks.. 😉)...
But if this could work.. I will go to heaven 😉
All you need is a regular ISP like the one you go online with your PC!
Create an access point with the following details:
In TOOLS --> SETTINGS --> CONNECTION ---> ACCESS POINTS
Select --> OPTIONS --> NEW ACCESS POINT --> DEFAULT SETTINGS
Connection Name: <Whatever you want like AOL for example>
Data bearer: GSM data
Dial-up Number: <Your ISP dialup number, the number your PC dials to use the internet>
User name: <Your username>
Prompt Password: No
Authentication: Normal
Gateway IP address: 0.0.0.0
Data call type: Analogue
Maximum Data Speed: Automatic
Now be sure to check the details with that of your PC, some ISP require different settings!
Use this Access point to surf the internet and for email and IRC as well!

I got a question for you...
I get 210 free minutes a month with my vodafone.
But WAP isn't included in it 😞
When i do it this way... will it be my normal minutes or will it be extra?
Thanks 😉
It depends on the dialup number! If it is local charge it will be included in the free minutes but check that with your network! this has nothing to do with WAP anyways. Its just like making a regular phone call! 😊
well thanks....
but how the hell can i connect to it?
How can i make it dial in?
Well you just do the steps that i posted above an create an access point!
Then whenever a program connects to the internet or Wap, u use the accespoint created.
You can set it as a WAP access point, a Mailbox accesspoint, Internet Accesspoint everything really!
If that does not answer your question, be more specific! 😊
well my standard access point is VIZAVI... (WAP)
but now i want to connect to 12MOVE.... how do i do that?
SHould i change the standard access point to 12MOVE then?\
Bit of a hassle every time 😞
You can choose the access point for every app you choose!
You daont have to change your standart one!
This does not work for me,when it tries to connect,i get General: System Error.I'll try with my other ISP tomorow, cause that one has caller id and i'll have to add my mobile phone number to the access list.I'll let you know if i have any luck.
PS: has anyone tried it?
i have an IRC channel and am OPS basically want to know how to auth my self ?
thanks in advance 😊
I tried it and it worked!
As for identifying id depend of the server!
I just type /identify <password>
and I am recognised!
I've been using the IRC client for a week or 2 now (stumbled across is accidentally when I was on a buying spree) and it works fine, but...
Quirks:
for channels that require a key, you have to do a manual join and include the key every time (it doesn't save the key in the join list that it creates)
When someone private chats you, you can't talk to them unless you explicitly do a chat command to them (although their chat request automatically creates a new window and you can see their text)
urls are automatically underlined and set in blue text, but there's no apparent way to do anything with them. You can't copy them into the clipboard for use in your web browser.
The Online Time monitor at the top of the window sometimes goes wonky - displaying "-1:-5" then "-1:-6" then "-1:-5" again.
Suggestions for next release:
When you set audio to notify you when you get private chatted, or anything else, and that audio file you select is a long one, you have to listen to the entire thing. There's no way to kill it (ie. with a keystroke).
Speed-typing someone's name that's already in the channel. (We need a tab key!)
Automatically accepting "of" as "me" when typing "/me laughs" for example. Currently the built-in autospeller takes it as "/of laughs" and you have to press an extra key to cycle "of" to "me".
Someone mentioned this is beta, but I purchased my copy, which is kinda traditionally not supposed to be possible if its beta. My version says 1.0, so I'd assume my copy isn't beta.
But I love it overall. Just wish I didn't have to disconnect any time I want to do anything else on the phone that requires a connection (check for new mail being the big one).
Well you have not the latest version I am afraid. Version 1.10 is the latest!
>Well you have not the latest version I am afraid. Version 1.10 is the latest!
DOH!
Oops. Now I have to go and do it all over again.
Oh - one thing tho - Here's a tip: Remember to close/disconnect IRC. Leaving it on racks up the traffic, which if you're being charged for it, could get expensive.
Most other apps don't continuously generate traffic.
Well, this is interesting...
How do I upgrade my 1.0 registered version to 1.1? The mobileways.de site doesn't let you download it (doesn't even mention it except for a button on the home page).
If I go to the Handango site, I can download a trial version or purchase a full version.
My fears:
If I download the trial version, it will overwrite my registered version and I'll be stuck with a trial.
I can't download the registered version without purchasing it.
Any idea?
Yeah thats a bit tricky! The best thing to do is contcat mobileways.de and tell them the situation! If you did buy it they probably know it and can send you a full version or something!
I tried, but it doesnt seem to work..
Is there some way I can debug this ?? Is there a log that helps ??
Also this might sound dumb.. but dont I require to subscribe to 'data calls' to be able to do this ??
Yes you have to subscribe to data calls!

Did you get: General:System Error?

Hi GhostDog,
there was a minor bug in the access point selection which might have caused a "General: System Error" on connecting. To check for this bug, simply select "None" as your "Default access point" and then try to connect.
If you're not online yet, WirelessIRC should open a selection list prompting for an access point.
If you still see a "General: System Error" this error could be related to your ISP settings then.
If you don't get an error, I'd suggest to download the newest release v1.12 from Handango which fixes the access point selection.
Cheers,
Ole
