In case you are wondering, the person posting as fdave before was not me. By the way, I do find people doing that quite offensive.

Dave

Okay, I've now registered the username fdave, that should presumably stop people from posting stuff under my name...

About the source code on the website, people were complaining that they can't compile it themselves, well that's true, but what exactly can I do about it?

I don't have an N-Gage myself so it has to be compiled and ported for the N-Gage by someone else.
The best I can do is what I am currently doing which is putting my latest source on the web-site.

I was going to get an N-Gage QD actually but I just read they removed the MP3 player, stereo output and the Radio. Can't believe it! 😮

I thought so.

Why don't you get the N-Gage Classic, its packed with features and its dirt cheap unless you are really botherd by the sidetalking perk.

BTW:I don't know what's the rush.Lars said that he is going to release a soundless version of PicoDrive with the latest version of your core pretty soon.

N-Gage classic? Do you have a link - does it still have the sidetalking and problem where you have to take out the battery to change games?

fdave i dont the point between having a NGAGE and compiling the source of your program...u meant that u didnt want to make any sis file cause u didnt check if the source worked right? else who did compile the version before?

++

I don't know why everyone always talk about sidetalking with N-Gage. I phone with mine by taking it normally (with volume up though) and I have absolutely no problem to listen (or maybe whan I am in a big crowd talking loudly around me, but it's quite rare).

fDave good Job.

Buy N-Gage Classic for more Reasons.

N-Gage QD dont have, Stereo, MP3, Radio, Triband, USB Port.

For Transfer archives to N-Gage QD you need a Reader Cards or Pc Bluetooth but this is too slow to tranfer.

Sorry for my English im Spanish.

Ciao

I can't make a sis file because I don't have an ngage to develop on, and also it's quite hard to develop for Symbian when you haven't done it before. It is much easier to develop for Pocket PC and for the GP32.

The person who ported it was a guy called Lars (also known as AG/Another Guest) - he knows how to compile stuff for Symbian so he did a version called PicoDrive S60

hum i c and what/when can lars compile some new version of your stuff? to let us tease

c u

???
Who is this bad guy who post with the pseudo of other people ???

when a new version will be released? and will there be sound included, too?

(bad english?)

I'm tired seeing everybody ask for sound support 😞
The far most important is a greatest compatibility (Shining Force, ...) and bugs corrections (dialog boxes in RPG for example ...).
And asking for something doesn't exempt for congratulating for the job already done ...

shut up man, sound is all we need, stop being fussy and live with the games that work! again nice job dudes, frame rate, is 10 points!

guys... the framerate is pretty bad... i played sonic3 and it seemed to have been 4-5 frames/sec! it was a joke!

maybe its possible to use an emulator for testing the binaries?
Nokia has series 60 emulators available.

I will test it tonight, but I'm surprised from what you say as the framerate is very good for all the games I have already tested (play eMAME if you want to know what a really slow framerate is).

im so amazed that someone posted from my name last day! it sux
so fdave why lars cant compile your stuff and release picodrive s60 i dont get it?
gogogo man i'm with you 😊

Well,do what dave did,register.Its free.

Sonic1 and Sonic3 does have horrible framerates at the moment, on S60 Picodrive, while it's fully playable on GP32 picodrive, but I suppose that's cuz of the 33Mhz head-on the GP32 has. Anyways, Sonic2 and for example Earthworm Jim and Flashback are nearly full sleep (about 89-90% as I can judge with bare eyes). It's very good work, wouldn't ever think Genesis emulation is possible on a system that has 133Mhz CPU and no graph chip at all

What's your phone ??

GhostDog wrote:Sonic1 runs on my N-Gage almost without frameskip.

Sonic1 and 2 is playable on N-Gage, it's Sonic3 and Sonic&Knuckles which isn't, cuz framerate is so horrible. Strangely the graphically superior Earthworm Jim2 runs near perfectly.
I'm not sure if the problem is with my Gage or with the emu, because I don't know what do you mean under "almost without frameskip" .
I used to play Sega games both on original Genesis, on PC and on Pgen (PS2 Genesis emulator), so I'm quite sure Sonic 1 is slower on my Gage then its original speed

hey man i dont mean to be rude or n e thin but i was just wondering.... is the reason why fdave is taking so long to release a new version of picodrive S60 that he is working on something big... like the sound or something?

thanks in advance..
