PicoDrive for Series 60 Released!
I have 3 questions:
1. Does PicoDrive work good on the siemens sx1?
2. Can u read the text of RPG? i could imagine, that it is too small 😞
3. Does the games syndicate and pirates work?? the text in syndicate would be toooo small, i dread.

1.not so sure but if its a series 60 phone,it should work.
2. its small but readable if you use the potrait stretch function.

1. I believe that it's supposed to, yes. However, I have an N-Gage QD so I can't answer this one.
2. There are some issues with the scrolling text boxes in RPGs (ie Phantasy Star 2) where the text disappears after scrolling. AFAIK fdave is working on fixing this. In general, the text is small and might hurt your eyes a bit, but it is readable (from what I remember, I can't be bothered to fire up PicoDrive right now).
3. Don't know about Syndicate, but unfortunately Pirates! doesn't work yet. Maybe on the next release of PicoDrive it will 😊

Oh dear! I played "Pirates! Gold" on my amiga when i was young. i spend nights in front of the screen sailing across the sea 😉.
it�s a pity that it is not supported by now. in my opinion its the best game on genesis/megadrive!
PicoDrive starts the game, but when i press the start-button it restarts! 😞((

for those who don�t know the game:
Pirates Gold works quite well on my Ngage. The previous version of pico had a few problems with redrawing the ocean correctly as you moved, but the newest seems to have fixed this. Pirates and Street Fighter 2 are the games I play all the time on my Ngage.

No pressure man.....just wanted to know cos i'm really anxious to see whether the next version will support my favourite games,Warsong and Shining Force Series. So far you have done an outstanding job on Picodrive(it should be called FdaveDrive,btw why choose Pico as the name?)and you have the respect of everybody i know who owns the ngage.We all sincerely hope you manage to juggle your time between the development and your personal life cos you dont owe us nothing but we all owe you a lot.... 😊

in europe the original is called megadrive! so that is the "big" version.
(mega = 10^6)
picodrive is just a little bit smaller 😉
(pico = 10^-12)

Well, that's lucky for you. Unfortunately the problem I have with Pirates! Gold is that the game starts up just fine, but only runs in demo mode - as soon as I press any of the buttons at any time (A,B,C, Start, it doesn't matter) the game resets back to the Sega logo.
Last I checked, I was running the latest version of the game. And I have this same problem with Herzog Zwei as well. I wish Pirates! Gold worked for me, it's an awesome game (at least, it was on the Mac, on the PC, and on the Genesis)...

I have the same problem! I tried 4 different versions of pg, but no effort.

Wow seems alot of people are having problems running pirates, I am using the original Ngage with the v3.30 28-08-2003 nem-4 firmware. Have you guys remapped the buttons as i seem to remember my pirates resetting to the sega logo with the default keys.
i have a sx1, too. fw 10 and pirates does not work 😞
Please make Dune 2 works on picodrive. Is my favourite game and is the only RTS on portable videogames...

A new version of PicoDrive has just been released.
The changes are:
- Diagonal keys support
- New version of GCC (should run a little bit faster)
Version 0.16 of PicoDriveS60 is attached to this post.

Anybody got Warsong running properly on their picodrive? i cant get mine to properly show the dialog for warsong part 1 and the part 2 crashes just when i'm about to start the 1st scenario. is it just me or does this affect everybody?
hi, my sx1 is in repair. can anyone tell me if pirates work????
i've almost given hope on playing warsong on my ngage as my fren has told me that some games will not be compatible while most will and my warsong may just be one of those that wont be compatible.so sad as it's definitely the game that i hope most to play on my ngage.i play that game so many times i lost count! but sometimes some things are just not meant to be....

Hey this awesome! It even plays Phantasy Star 4, the awesomest RPG ever!! Sound doesnt work too well, but at least it still plays! Works great on the 6620!

Can you tell me where you got your Pirates! Gold rom, and send me the picodrive version you're using with pirates, and (finally :P) tell me how are your keys mapped? Thanks in advance.
By the way, i've tried a little bit Starflight, on last version it works well except the sound, which is absent. Anybody had ever tried Lost Labyrinth?
If i can get to work Pirates!Gold, Starflight, Lost Labyrinth, one shoot 'em up (is Battle Squadron good? For now i'm trying it, it works quite well) and one beat 'em up (SF2 maybe, i haven't managed to get it to work yet), i think i'm never going to leave my n-gage qd!
