I'm not using GPRS for mail, but I think 5mb would suffice if your not sending loads of programs ect. (If you've got BT/IR)
I have GPRS on my V66, which i use for WAP daily (checking email, football scores, ebay auctions and news) I have an allowance of 1mb which I have never even come close to passing in a single 4 week period. I'd imagine email would bump it up quite a bit, so something like 2mb should be enough. Like J said, if you're downloading programs your needs will differ, then you should start looking at 5mb+
well i just got it today and already in 15 mins used over 1.5 mb !
But i was using Webviewer with images turned on !
WAP Pages are really small ! Again tho m8 it depends what you are after it for !
The good thing with the e-mail app though is you can check its size before downloading it - just in case some idiot has sent a load of attachments that would be better delivered by White Arrow!
Doesn't that assume that you have an IMAP4 service for your email (rather than POP3)?
No, if you go to ptions with an e-mail selected, you can view Message Details and if you scroll down from there, you can see the size of the e-mail.
I used to use GPRS with my palm via bluetooth, now with my 7650. On an average my e-mails were about 10kb each. So if you work by that principle.....
But my understanding is that if you have a POP3 serivce you never get to see the size, they just start downloading on connection. What you have just described is a facility of an IMAP4 client talking to a server enabled for same. Otherwise, Y would people bother to set up IMAP4 ...

Well, I'm definately on POP3 and I only download e-mails that I am interested in, and that are not stupid sizes.
My usual procedure is;
1) Open Messaging, go to the mailbox (my case, ADDR.COM)
2) Options -> Connect (wait for mailbox to load with mail headers)
3) Ooh! There's an interesting looking e-mail. Highlight it
4) Options -> Message Details
5) Scroll Down - Only 73Kb, that's Ok with me
6) Select Ok
7) Options -> Retreive E-mail -> Selected
8) Disconnect
9) Read my mail
Sowted!
I have just signed up for GPRS Orange 0.5Mb per Month.
I an ONLY using it for email send/recieve with image attachments from my camera.
I estimate that this will allow me to send 20 images per month - is this correct (do it sound right to you?).
THanks.
Tanker - Hey I am no expert ... just that was the way I thought it worked. Sounds OK to me ... I'll just have to sort out a global provider then and set up my rules in Outlook to forward on to me only those that I might be interested in (seeing as how my ADSL service downloads everything every few minutes).
Thanx
