Hardware 7650

Just my take on the memory addressing issue;

If Nokia made the 7650 with upgraded versions in mind then it would make financial sense to manufacture a "base" platform and build the actual phones on this. This would give them greater discounts by bulk buying the components required for a high capacity memory bus and they would use the same components for (future) phones with more memory.
Come on Millenium .... everybody is waiting for you !!!!!!
Even if this works, who's going to actually do it? I for one don't fancy having my phone ripped apart. Even more so since Millenium mentioned his not working.

I would give it a go, or take it down to the service centre and get them to help me with it.

I dont think it would actually be that difficult, well hell ive dismantled and put computers etc back together and other electronic stuff, but I think the main thing is people wouldnt want to damage there phone, as long as ya follow millenniums intructions and dont do anything stupid it would all be fine.

Anyhpw if he got it going id damn sure give it a go, but then again theres a high chance it wont work as others have pointed out with the flash memory.

where have u been Millenium? I can't stop thinking of upgading my phone memory ................ 😉 😃

I do not agree,i think (hope) that milenium will be our nokia7650 with 16 MB night in flurescent armour.

It probably can be done, but lets stop dreaming,in order to achieve this we'll need the nokia gods on our side, which are not.Great thing would be a bluetooth enabled storage device (like the one toshiba is developing )that would be recognized by the phone as a local drive of some sort,so we'll be able to install apps on it store videos and images (Not transvering them from the phone to the device). But this is just my wish to the symbian tooth fairy.

lol the symbian fairy hey, the Nokia GOds
you worship your phone do you?

Is the 7650 a new religion of its own??

😊

His website doesn't say anything about memory upgrades. It just has some info on his company and a list of products they carry.
girl accident?
try fighting a 200 pound girl over a pizza
(she is NOT my girlfrind)

Now this is a truly interesting thread.

I have successfully changed IMEI on 3330 and 6210. These newer handsets are not done the same way, but I imagine if one finds a way to write an IMEI to the 7650 we would have overcome the problem preventing us from replacing the IC.

We are probably talking about some expensive flashing software to make this happen.

I would be very interested to know what the equivilent to WinTesla would be for the 7650 (Showing how long I've been out of it here!) if anybody can advise, this may be the solution.

If you are being overtaken, you are driving too slow!

How you check that new IMEI?

Too long 😉

I believe.. i can fly 😃

No no, i believe that nothing's impossible, but this... not that possible, cause not everyone wants to risk losing his new toy, and getting in fights with the service centers to fix what they go against, i suggest you buy a 3650 (althought im against that 😊) and get a 128 MB Multi Media Card (sold on this site that has banners here in all about er6).

But for people who have loopholes, or just don't care: GOOD LUCK!!

And fill us in don't run away from this forum!!!!

Having done a quick scan through this entire discussion thread, it would appear I've overlooked (or it simply isn't in the threads) the actual device part number for the flash chip in question...

Can anyone provide this info? I'm not too keen on opening up my 7650 to read it off the chip...

Tar muchly...
