Would anybody happen to know if it is possible to add the name field to the email sent from a 6600? The receiver sees only my email address at the moment. I tried to put "First Last <[email protected]>" to the settings, but it does not change the situation. I reckon it is not possible to get your name showing or does somebody know otherwise?

I'm from the Phils also and using Smart, but I don't have problem SENDING and Receiving Emails on my 6600 from pacific internet. Use the "internet" setting of Smart for email access. To do this, send a text message "Set internet n6600" send to 211. Use this as default on your email settings. So you see I have 3 access points on my phone: smartgprs (for browsing), smartmms (for sending/receiving mms) and internet (for email access, which uses my mobile provider's server, not my ISP's server). BTW, my firmware is the oldest one around (v 3.42)

I think you should change your user profile on your email provider, not from from your phone.

Outgoing messages go out directy through an SMTP server and the email client (phone side) decides what kind of headers it is sending.
If it is any consolation, the 6630 Messaging app has a "My name" field for this purpose (which of course won't help with a 6600 that is based on an older release of Series 60 & no upgrades are likely).
Yeah you're right, it never was a concern for me to add a name field because, my email address is my name, so ppl receiving emails from me would already know just from the email address alone no need to add name field.
same prob here.... i have to find the outgoing and incoming server... im from the phil!
