Hi everybody,
When I got my Ngage a few weeks ago I could just save any mp3 file to E:\ and then select them as ringtones. For whatever reason this does not work anymore - though I can still play the mp3s with the music player, apart from the default tunes that came with the phone I can only chose midi files in C:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital .
I tried to move the mp3s there, too - no success.
Does anyone know this problem ? Can I enter the path of my favorite ringmp3 into some .ini file directly?
Tanks for all help, Joachim
Noone else with this problem or even a solution?
Lets try it that way: I tried to reset my NGage completely using the *#7370# code but that requires me to type in some key. I never got any sort of key for this phone, what the hell does it want from me?
Joachim
NGage was never able to use mp3 as ringtone...
Perhaps you forget that you converted your mp3s to wav before using them as ringtones?

You are wrong. The N-Gage can and does use MP3 files as ringtones. They need to be installed in the digital folder.

Why is it the only s60 device to do so? And if it is so, why has nobody written software to do the same for other s60 devices. Surely it is one of the most commonly asked questions!

The 7610 can use MP3 ringtones,i believe the Sendo X can also.

Unfortunately Sendo X cannot use MP3 ringtones.
Anyway I don't find it a so important feature (waves do the job and do it very well) but I believe it can be done through a 3rd party soft. The latest ogg vorbis plugin is a very good example (but only for series60 ver 2 devices - too bad).
Well i have done the reset on mine with *#7370# and the key code was 12345 FYI!

This may of some help , I have been having problems with ringtones not appearing in the list. I also found that I didnt have Folders G:/sounds/digital so I created those folders , then added my ringtones to the digital folder. Reboot the phone and the ringtones appear in the "recorder"
