TomTom Citymaps

I have a problem with TomTom Citymaps apk folders. When I try to install a map onto my 9210i, using PC Suite, I get the choice of Psion or Nokia installation. If I choose the latter, I get the message "FILE CORRUPT" although I have no difficulty in installing it on my Psion 5mx and then copying it to the Nokia. TomTom do not answer my emails. Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is there an explanation?

Yes. However, the problem appears ro be related to PsiWin. When I try to install through PC Suite, it appears to try to connect tp the Psion, rather than to the Nokia, despite the fact that I specified the latter. I havent tried uninstalling PsiWin. Is there a solution that you may suggest?
Many thanks.

i think that setup.exe has a bug, I have ONLY pcsuite, THE LAST VERSION
why dont u check the TXT files into your CD? there are INF files which work like drivers for
each device(psion or 9210 and go on)

If you have a MMC card reader, copy the sis file from the CD to MMC and install from there. Alternatively u can use Nokia suite to copy the file across - slower but works.

With regard to Jojo's point, I cant find inf files among the txt files, only mnu files specific to the various devices. I have no idea how to use these. Can you help?
Thank you, Tomahawk. The problem arises only with apk files, which are the latest form of packaging in Citymaps. Sis files work perfectly well in the way you suggest. However, the Install facility in Device Mnager seems to have no provision for unpacking or installing apk files.

I remember reading somewhere that file installations go wrong if you have both PsiWin and PC Suite installed on your computer. Most of the time it works fine (if PC Suite is installed last it will be associated with .sis files), but some installation applications check if PsiWin is installed.

If it is, they use that for the installation of .sis files. Trying to install a EPOC R6 .sis file with PsiWin results in the 'corrupt file' message. So, in order to install CityMaps or RoutePlanner you need to uninstall PsiWin.

according to Arjen's post, i think this is really possible! i didnt think of that,
i just have 9210! why dont u try to install a sis file (through PC suite first), before
unistalling PsiWin and see if the sis files are assosiated with PCsuite or PsiWin

I did what you suggest, and your hunch is correct. I get an "invalid installation file" message through PC Suite. I can get round this by installing the maps on my Psion CF card and then copying them to the Nokia which is a nuisance but it works. I must say that TomTom are very unhelpful. It is, after all, a design fault in their software.

yeah, they dont ever release new versions of their maps,
they are really old, even the APK cd with "new" file stracture!
not even a greek map for the olympic visitors

the only thing they care is the security and not the support to their customers
