Hi .. i just got the n-gage qd. i want an mp3 player on it but i dont have a clue how to do it. ive downloaded "Helix Player for Symbian OS v1.0". Could someone please post a step-by-step guide on how to install it.
*i have a 32mb mmc and a usb bluetooth dongle.

Try ReadM. It's a freeware eBook reader that also supports MP3 files. It is the only freeware alternative AFAIK.
You should have gotten the N-Gage, not the QD 😛

I don't gain anything if he buys a N-Gage, but just find it a bit odd if you buy a QD if you want MP3 support when the Normal N-Gage can play stereo mp3's and the QD can't.
And certainly because at this moment the N-Gage is way cheaper than the QD (atleast it is here ...).
Just to update you on the N Gage Prices it is �130 in Argos and �79.99 in Orange Shops and Online. Why the hell do you want to buy a QD the old model is far better and has an MP3 player, Its ace, but i dont use it for games. Go buy one i suggest
I've got a QD, and before I had an original N-gage. I listen to MP3 now, and before I didn't. And that's because the QD has a decent battery and the original N-gage doesn't, this meaning you can listen music as with a normal walkman without having to worry about this leaving you phoneless, something you couldn't do with the original. So don't tell him QD doesn't work as a MP3 player.
You should get UltraMP3. it's worth the price, believe me: as for the menu functions is far better than the music player in the original n-gage, and doesn't get stuck as much as the other ones. The sound is mono, mind you! and if you've got a sound editor like cooledit or something, you'd do well to amplify the MP3 file volume. Something you also had to do with the Music Player. You can use the trial, and decide.

i also got realone player on it .. just like the original n-gage. go to real.com and download the .sis for mobile devices. and its free!

I have a 3310 and Sony Walkman that can play MP3s and has a built-in FM tuner 😃
I guess Tom_PrS has a similar setup with his QD 😉

Why do you have fm radio and mp3 player on ngage qd?
With the realplayer alone you cant hear mp3 and fm, or??

Thats said you can get this cable from Skullcandy that plugs into your handfree port and the handphone port of your walkmand and you can use handfree though the same headphones...which in a way makes your N-gage QD have radio and mp3..
I have a QD, and I've looked all over the realplayer website for the .sis for the realplayer. I've tried the links for every mobile device, and none of the seem to link to the file for an n-gage. Any ideas?

Real Player is ON THE CD that came with your QD. along with the SyncML program.
Strewth, this is as bad as the people that complained the N-Gage didn't come with any games!!!
THERE IS ALSO a Space Shoot 'em up GAME on the N-GAGE CD! (not the QD CD, they took it off, along with the QD's FM and MP3 support, the swines)

No, sorry, only the original N-Gage supports MP3 ring tones.

Hi! I�m from finland so I�m not very good write english but I try my best to help you.
1. If it�s .sis file copy it on you N-Gage QD
2. Then if your use data cable, take it off and go to settings
3. Go then manager and select that name .sis file what is it.
4. Then it ask you want you install it and select yes that long as it is installed.
5. Then restart your N-gage and it will appear in your Menu
6. Then copy your mp3 files on your N-gage QD and LET`S PARTY!!!!

for all those of u who are comparing the QD MP3 features with that of the original all I can say is HAHAHAHA HAHA HAHA .
See some tech for u people....the QD has mono sound output, so whatever u play on the QD is going tocome out mono. EVEN IF U USE ULTRA MP3. The sound output of the QD just sucks... sure its louder on speakerphone, but try out some headphones and then u'll see what I mean.
Once u listen to MP3's on the original u wont go near the QD. Yes the battery of the QD is almost 2 times as good as the orignal.. I'll give u that.
UltraMP3 as a prog is crap compared to the original MP3 player. It doesnt have any presets, hogs the system resources with all its graphic output and sound quality is hopeless.... more importantly its mono....MONO.Even if u use head-phones u are listening to the same signal on both speakers.. thats not the same as stereo, which has 2 independent signals intended specifically for left and right speakers.
As far as Radio on teh QD is concerned, get real that Radio is a WAP based app. You have to pay everytime u use it. Its the most uneconomical solution.
What the QD does give u is a more compact package... but only just. The hot-swap is defnitely useful. Sidetalking has been taken care of, but I dont mind it that much, it gave the phone personality 😊.
