Hi I guess I am having the same pbm as some of you ppl. I am currently using firmware 4.09.1 if I am not wrong, the newest firmware. I believe one of the replies says that ogg ringtones cant work for phone using this firmware, so what works? Now the .ogg plays in the recorder or in the OggPlayer v1.0 (used v1.51 to the same effect), but does not work as a ringtone and stops the vibration. Anybody with any cure to this?

i'm no programmer, but shouldn't it be a matter of replacing all .ogg references with .mp3 in the script.
as well how do you change firmware/ where do you find firmware.

if i can get ogg to work as ringtones bugfree then i don't mind downgrading at all.
apparently 3.4.9 or whatever the older version is the euro/international version which was released earlier. nokia doesn't field it's source code for up to 6 months according to some techie there.
even if we got a copy from one of our european compadres, we don't know the process invoved in setting one up.

The latest OggPlay (version 1.6.1) should adress the problem with ringing tones. It's primary a music player, but the ogg plugin delivered with the package should work well as ring-tones . Tested fine with 2 different 6600 firmwares.

u have to uninstall oggplay in order to get the ovcontroller to work........ the better alternative would be to uninstall the ovcontroller and install oggplay 1.6.1, both ways should get ure ogg ringtones to work
oh and firmware 4.09.1 is what i'm using so it should work for yours
hey ya.. ive already install oggplayer v1.5 on my N6600 & some oggfile too in my mmc. my prob now is, from the menu profile i can see the ogg sound clip same as the wav file. ive already choose oggfile as a ringtones. while in the selecting file as a ringtones, i can hear the song but after use it as a ringtones, there will no sound at all when ive got incoming call. why? ive already remove the OVController from my phone. do i need to install OVController again? my FW is 4.09.1. can anyone help me out?
