I've had my phone for 3 weeks now and the sheath is still on (including silver tab). I practice safe calls 😉 Heh seriously tho' I can't get a dedicated 7650 leather case/belt clip for love nor money, so until I do, the sheath stays on. I'm making do with my old 7110 leather case at the moment until I get a replacement. Talking of my old 7110, I kept the sheath on that phone for about 2 to 3 months before I got rid of it for being grubby round the edges.

I dont agree! Its like buying a football and not using it so that it does not get scratchy and dirty! I dont mean that you should start playing footbal with your phone, but I worry about more important things, like World Peace! 😃 😃 😃
That was the first thing i ripped off my phone once i unboxed it !
why leave it on ! urrggghhh makes the phone look awful ! may protect it but heh in 10 months time i will have the newer latest phone then !
Wouldnt ya be peed off if you left it on for ages and just when you took it off it got stolen or lost ! then you get a new one and do it again !
I say just use the damn thing ! 😊

Each to their own I guess. I DO use the phone and on average I keep my phones between 2.5 and 3 years. I like to keep my kit (whatever it is) in pristine condition. Why bother having a great colour phone if the screen is scratched to hell? Heh I'll agree to disagree :P

It still stay on my phone. Only it's have snatches on the middle of the screen.
Thank for the plastic which protect it.
😃
put away after 20 Days cause the bubbels 😉
but i hold it inside a Microfaserbag,
wich is normaly for glasses.
GtreetZ Smi
mine is still on
and i think its not disturbing at all
cuase it has no bubble and doesnt change the look of the screen as well.
imagine what worse than a coulour phone with scratches on its screen!!!!
Anyway ill take it of when the sides are becoming fiddly.
oh yupp, mine is about 2 months .
Mines fine except for a very small tinge in the plastic. its about a 1mm dot on the plastic its only noticeable in some lights, but im not going to take it off and expose the screen to scratches over it. 😊
Mines cpl weeks old. 😊
mine still on
yeah outside screen still good
but inside the screen is dusty 😃 😃
The woman in the Vodafone shop, ripped it of before she gave me the phone. It's the first thing I would have done anyway.
I don't get why people leave it on!!. My friend still had his on his year old 8210, he could barely see the screen. I pulled it off and he went mad
I don't get some people.
still on my phone had it for 2 weeks now 😊, that screen is so big that if the protector off i most likely scratch the screen😞
Mine's still on, though I've only had the phone for about a week now. However, ever since I got the phone, there's been a spec of dust under the protective cover, which causes a minute bubble. Still left it on though as you can't really see it when the backlight to the phone is on.
Had it been perfect, I'd have probably cut off the silver tab at the top and left the rest of the plastic sheath on the phone. :-?
me after 2 months still on. Anyway, hav bought the screen protector from www.c2ocity.com. Just waiting for the original worn out.
Mine was still on when I bought, didnt have the heart to rip it off lest I scratch the LCD. AND I was right, there were scratches on the protective sheath in a couple of days (guess, I am careless).
Anyway searched ALL AROUND for spare 'screen protectors', even went to the extent of looking around for Palm screen protectors. BUT I LIVE IN INDIA. The standard line from any shop is 'You dont get that in India'.
Finally found out the price of a new case replacement from Nokia. It was only around 14$US... So I guessed WHAT THE HECK. Might as well scratch the damn screen and get it replaced. (BTW the new case comes with a protector on it, just in case).
So I RIPPED IT OFF Yesterday!!!.
And well anyway I have got a soft cloth lining done on my carrying case. (Just in case).
Cant there be a hard plastic sheath ??? It would be so useful... It would be like driving an F1, just rip-and-go... 😊
Ripped it off straight away.
I don't get it? The flimsy plastic cover will scratch so much easier than the proper screen, so do you just put up with those scratches? Or do you then remove the screen anyway?
How could anyone use the phone with the plastic cover still on??!! it is meant to be removed.
have you ever tried waching tv with the plastic cover still on??!! or are you one of those people that have their remote control in a plastic bag...yak!!
The screen colour and touch of the 7650 are so nice that you have to enjoy it to the max for as long as it lasts...because it is certain that if the phone falls down and hits on the screen no plastic cover will help save the integrity of the screen! 😉
Mine was off when i bought it from my friend. I went to paste a PDA screen protector rightaway. I'm so worried that my screen will be scratched.
mine is off and i got quite alot of scratches in the display already... :/
mine is still on and gonna take it off when its get blurry.
btw is very different between having a nokia 7650 with protective screen cover and having a Tv with the plastic on.
Its not the same thing , its like comparing dog and a cat!!!!
of course we wouldnt be able to watch a tv while the protective cover still on
an tv screen would not scratch anyway unless you wanna cary it all over the place!!!.
BTW i never buy any tv that got protective screen on it ??
Who said anything about a TV plastic cover????
This thread only prooves that there are two types of 7650 users,
The ones that have the plastic cover and those who don't. 😊
Its down to personal preference, and you cannot blame either of them!
I dont belong to either of the two categories, my phone just fell from my hands, I have no screen anymore 😃 😃 😃
Already phoned them, they dont know how much it will cost! They must first see the phones condition. When I get my phone back I will tell you how much it costs for a screen replacement!
😞
P.S. How can u make one?
By the way, you get more scratches if the screen protector is on!!!
When i had it on for three weeks, I had a whole army of scratches! Its been a long time since it was off, and no scratches ever went through the barbed wires 😃

My phone is a Survivor! It feel three times! Two times in the kitchen! (i hate hard ground..) and it still looks as good as new, only this little tiny eensy scratch on the sliver part!
Where'd J2theIZZO's post go? it was here a second ago!
It must be Moderator Magic 😃
Taking off the plastic bit on an electronic device is all part of the pleasure of buying an electronic device. It's like, "Hmmmmm, this is new and I am the only one who gets to take off its plastic thing".
😃
I like to keep the original protecting sheet on but after sometimes it started to peel off from the corner. I took it off and replaced it with the protecting cover from C2O. It is not as good as the original. :-?
DO you think will there be a third party kind of screen protector just like the Palm?
Third party screen protectors are already available (albeit difficult to get). I think www.c2ocity.com has got them... But as one of the above post reflects it might not be as good.
I think it is better to use a softcase, let it get scratched and then go to nokia and get the case replaced... (it is only around 14$US)
