the XDA II cocts Rs.41500 (approx USD 930.00) in bombay(india) from the grey market without warranty... they basically get the phones from UK / singapore etc with their warranties & all papers inside.. so i guess u can fill up the warranty card & send it to the company.
anways... saw the 9500 today & held it in my hand. one of my dealers told me he had it.. so i went to see it, i waited in his shop for half 'n hour & then he finally got only the phone. after putting his SIM inside he gave me the phone to hold..
1. the phone is definatelyoftware would freeze.. thinner than the 9210... slightly lighter... i really did not find too much difference.. but it was definately thinner..
2. the outer buttons are very good & the screen is also good.. the outer series 40 seemed to be faster in running than other phone.. the screen was good... like the 6230 screen or something like that...( i yet like SE screens better)
3. Camera was of OK quality... same as any nokia phone (except for the new 7610)
4. The main problem was that evertime i opened the phone... the inner software & phone would hang & no buttons would work
SO UNFORTUNATELY I COULD NOT USE THE PHONE & PLAY WITH IT AT ALL.
he had to give the phone back, but told me to wait a few days & he will try & show me a working phone.
hes now selling this phone (he claims it will work, but no guarantees) for Rs.60000 (approx US$ 1333)
i did not see the box or any accessories. The phone did not say PROTOTYPE.
i was dis-heartened by this piece... CAUSE I DID NOT GET TO USE IT...
:frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:
anyways i'll wait for a few more days & see what happens.
Meanwhile i spoke to a person i know in Nokia (india)... they have told me that the nokia 9500 will be a simultaneous launch all over the world in SEPTEMBER this year & in india it will be prices at Rs. 45000 (approx US$1000)
more later........
hehe 60k for a phone with tons of problems. not a good deal i say. neways cant wait till sep. im goin in for the XDA II which i will get by july 20. 9500 might be better but this time round i want a touch screen. i want to finish that facination ive had for a long time. always wanted a p900 now too late to buy one so XDA II here i come. congo on the ppl who get a 9500 as well 😊
60k for that phone doesnt sound really impressive. I just ordered by XDA 2 and should get it by 16th July. Cant wait to get my hands on it. It'll be my first PDA, and like Jesal said, she's always wanted to have a Touch screen phone,t he same goes with me.
Off-note, can the Heera Panna market be really trusted? has any one bought phones from there earlier, and had no problems at all. I've purchased a couple of phones from Alpha (Juhu) and had no problems using them, but always been a little skeptical about HP.
Can anyone help get me free add-ons for the XDA, so recommend any website.
This is not a PocketPC nor XDA website, stay on topic. If by free addons you mean warez, you came to the wrong place.

hp is ok frankly ill be gettin my xda 2 on 18 july. hey garcons u got msn or yahoo some things i wna clear bot the xda 2. also i know alfa very well.
The XDA is more like a pda than a phone. People will utilize it more as a PDA.
The 9200 series resembles both in contrast with a phone and a PDA.
1800USD in mumbai in the first week?! Damn 😮
You can buy 3 zero meter 9210i's for 1800USD, where I live.
Why buy, one for the price of three 😎
Smart bugdeting I say@! 😃
ok i was hanging out in a shopping complex today played on an imate for the first time and fell in love with it. i cant wait till my XDA 2 comes now. i think its a better decision i made not choosing the 9500 since i always wanted a TouchScreen. i skipped the p900 and had a p800 for under a week, so dunno much bot it. but overall XDA II rox for me at this point. can i have some nice forums plz for XDA 2 like AAS is for symbian. thx a lot
A little piece of advice for you. If by any chance you are a Nokia fan like me, chances are you will like the XDA2 at the first shot, but at a later stage, you migth want to go back to a Nokia. I finally got my XDA2, and i really dont think i like it. Nokia fones are way better, and within 2 days of me getting it, i have already played an ad on ebay to sell it off, and now waiting for the N9500. So be 100% sure if you are going for the XDA2
Just one question: You compare the commi with the XDA, but I think the better PDA is the Palm Treo. What do you think about the Palm Treo insted of the commi 😕
Hyper,
i heard the N9500 is gng to be launched in india for about Rs45k, but not quite sure how accurate this info is.

it will come in 4th quater of the year may be in OCT or NOV or DEc
but mostly i think in Oct
The PDA is a more delicate machine than the sturdier hard 9210i/9500. Their purpose is not the same. Their input specification is not the same, one uses sensors beneath the thin film transistor for input, the other uses binary, bcd codes for input through a qwerty keyboard. So I woundn't go comparing 2 extreme devices which are built for very different purposes.
The PDA is more like an organizer, like a schedule list, while the 9**** series combines the best functions of a phone and a mobile PC.

Is it? Because there is even a special Marketplace on this forum, I doubt it is not allowed to post your own e-mail adress there... (just checking, correct me if I'm wrong)
Heh, well mine has it.
I am using this alias "awyeah" on the internet since 5-6 years now, and the signature is same on every forum I have discussed in and every outgoing email I send. 😊
Hey ppl, I've ben waiting like a mad dog for nokia 9500 to come out, but am losing my patience now, there a guy from finland selling me a 9500 for 500 Euro's and other guy from italy, selling for $550..is it true? Should i go for one
That would seem to be "too cheap". I don't think this is legit...
Don't forget that they're probably test versions.
I read 2 reviews from a Doctor and a Managing Director from a computer company that tested 2 "tests units" 9500 yesterday, 26Oct.
It might have some differences to the final 9500, that will probably cost 700 to 800 without contract.
Picture of a lot of 9500 boxes

Dear All,
I'm new to this forum as I already made the my booking for nokia 9500 & expected to get delivery next week on Tueday.
As I'm more interested to use keypad rather than staylus.. so I found nokia a better choice for me..
wao...I was surprised that in Mumbai it reaches till 80K INR
As during one promotion early this month I picked it at 32k THB that means 800USD$.. not a bad deal.. Isn't
Well now I cannot cancel even if I want, but for my personal satisfaction, if any of you have some comparison chart between the above said models.
Nokia 9500 / Sonyericson P910 & O2XDA IIs
Your early response will be appreciated.
