Obviously a thumbs up, but a bit of a rubbish review; full of comment rather than hard analysis of the product... very disappointing from the usually excellent Register.

NB: They are not part of Sendo (in fact the site has an SX1 image - aggghhhh !! 😊I'm glad that you like the idea, and again thanks for testing the game on the SendoX! The second part which will be an adventure instead of an "adventure" is on its way 😊 Unfortunately it's quite time-consuming and difficult to do development, graphics, web-stuff and "marketing" at the same time...
Well, the SX1 got to be on the main page as I worked for Siemens Mobile for half a year for my internship, and the people there were really nice and I enjoyed it a lot. But from what I've heard and read, the Sendo X is a lot better than my SX1 and I'd buy it now (if I did not already own a rather new SX1).
I'd buy SX1 if it only had _normal_ keyboard. It has got mp3 player & fm tuner, which is a big plus in my books 😮) sendo is good too, but i'm tired of waiting...
SX1 would be good if only the MP3's played thru the bluetooth earphone!
Whats all that about - the music still comes out the phone and not the earphone??!!
well i think its released to late ,we need mega pixel phones now...to late sendo!!!!

The SX1 is a good phone -- yes, the keys are a bit strange, but the phone itself rocks -- very stable phone, in addition to the fact that Siemens does a lot of firmware upgrades (on #12 now), which you can download and install in seconds -- they even included JSR-82 support in Firmware #11 -- so now Java apps. can use the Bluetooth radio in applications ... Nokia is FAR behind when it comes to Firmware support and upgrades.
As for playing MP3 via the Bluetooth Earphone -- that might be cool, but not very pratical, considering it would be mono and would murder the battery quicker, but I see that as secondary -- not a reason to reject this phone.
I'm thinking of buying a Sendo, but on second thoughts, I'm guessing their customer and developer support would be horrid -- adding on top to that it took more than a year LONGER to launch -- shows they're still amatures ... but the device has potential.

praefectus, you are so wrong.
Generally manufacturers prefer consumers to go via the network operator customer care in the first instance, but if you still need support from Sendo then their customer support is excellent. They have:
1. A comprehensive online support system with multiple languages and a comprehensive list of FAQ's which are fully searchable! If the FAQ isn't there just register and submit your question.
2. They have a product simulator to help you familarise yourself the phone
3. Comprehensive tech spec docs.
4. OTA configuration
5. Online shop (powered by Handango) for ringtones graphics & software applications.

They have a dedicated developer program with full support:

All in all i would say that Sendo are fully prepared to support all their products (not just X).
:icon14: 😊 😊 😊
PlinkyKev,
Thanks for all your help around here. I learn a bit more with everything you offer. Helps a lot.
