HOW TO: Make regular sized MMC's work with Nokia 7610

You can just "force" a normal size card in with no mods but the battery and case fit back on _very_ tight and I didnt want to leave it like that so put the RS one back in. ..

I'm aware of that, and have tried it myself.... - I cannot stress how bad a solution I find this, since you can possibly break your MMC card, and your internal PCB! - Nokia even said themselves that the first reports have come in of people doing this and afterwards the connectors on the PCB(Printer Circuit Board) have come loose...

When you have a PCB with many small components and you bend it, those components will eventually loosen their grip in the solder itself, and therefore giving a bad connection inside the phone = death of your N7610...

SO THEREFORE I WOULDN'T EXACTLY RECOMMEND THIS METHOD TO ANYONE!!!!!
(Why do you think I made the guide if I could just squeze one in?)

Do you mean my mod? - Because that does...

And I guess cranking the MMC card in there does as well, because you're using your phone in a manor not recommended by nokia, and they look pretty strickt upon that...

dadp: You dont want to recommend the other method, and this method i dont recommend at all. Not everybody is handy, and its not good for warranty. Id rather buy rs-mmc. The other method doesnt void the warranty. You dont have to screw up the phone, just put in a mmc and youre done.

Nope, I know it's not a very optimal solution, but nevertheless, let's say you just bought a 1gb or 512mb mmc card, and now you can't use it at all... This guide was ment for people who already had a large(and expencive) MMC card and who was not planning on going out and paying 90$ for a 256 RS-MMC, when you can get a normal one for 20$... And 512 for 80$... And finally 1gb for 175$... - Four times the size, only twice times the prize...

If you crank your MMC in without doing my mod first, your phone will break eventually... - Read my last post!
Yes the phone warranty is broking doing my mod(BUT, sooner or later middle casings will be availible, and when they do, just replace the middle casing and your home free), but I think it is too by just forcing the MMC in there as well...
