I'm trying to use the defult O2 WAP connection to download email from my POP3 Btinternet account but I get a "general error" every time I try. Has anyone been successful? I had been using it with T-Mobile and it worked fine. Maybe the O2 CSD server is restricted to WAP use? Wel... I've read reports on here and google of people using it to browse the web, which brings me on to my next question.
I tried to use it with Webviewer, but my copy has expired. I had it installed but never actually tried to use it. Can somebody tell me if it works with the O2 WAP connection?
Lastly, My 02 op. logo doesnt show up. I'm using 243_10_0.bmp which I'm sure is right isn't it? I have it in the right folder and format because my T-Mobile one works fine.
Thanks for any help!
O2 WAP cannot handle POP3!
I have O2 but use my BTInternet account!
Webviewer does not work for me with O2 WAP!
no no no no.....
O2 can access POP3, I do it with my blueyonder account over GPRS.
Just change the GPRS access point from wap.o2.co.uk (which is the default O2 give you) to mobile.o2.co.uk
Makes it work with everything POP, SMTP, Webviewer etc.

Cool, but I find using my ISP cheaper since it is included in my free minutes! 😊
The problem with that is... I'm using O2 WAP via CSD which is a regular GSM connection. Not GPRS. 😞
aaahhh.... I see your problem..
Have you tried it though? Might still work.
I have a blueyonder email address and ISP. I have tried to send emails from my phones regularly and it worked the first few times, I even emailed everyone of my contacts to my home address as back up and it worked. After a few times it said, "Message sending error, check email settings" after this its never worked and I havn't even messed with any of the settings. I can receive emails perfectly, its just sending them and it's really starting to p*** me off!
I have O2 and it works fine...
I have a webdomain that my host gives me unlimited emails accounts (well for a price) so SMTP and POP3 all using the O2 Wap number (500 mins free)

234_10_.bmp is how you should rename your oplogo. (o2 uk)
What SMTP server settings are you using?
Try using one of BT's own SMTP servers rather than the one from your mail provider.
