Can anyone tell me how to solve Level 27 (Second Variety pack). 😮

At least give me the first couple of moves before I have to sue Ewan for a new 9210 when I throw mine out the damn window!!!!!!!

Thanks
😉

Using the 'Raised' pieces, the first four moves are...

Bottom triangle right.
Bottom cube left.
Right Cross Right.
Bottom triangle right.

Come on Ewan, I'm still waiting for my answer 😉 So please, the start of level 51 of first variety.

Thanks!

Hmmm... little confused, are we talking about the same level?? "Second Variety" - Level 27 - Push-Pin?

How do I complete L58 of the original pack, I've done it 8 times and it keeps reloading L58 instead of 59!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Yeah, the mushroom shape in ER6 is the same as the triangle in ER5 which is where I grabbed the moves.

There is no level 59. Once 58 is completed, load in the next level pack.

[59 Levels, numbered 0 to 58]

sorry Ewan - I'm still no closer, maybe a few more??? 😃 😃

Pretty Please....

Thanks

Ewan, I was somehow able to edit your post... :-? and then it disappeared 😮ops:

Anyway thanks for the start, but I have to follow Patrick and have to beg for a few more steps, please! :-? :-? 😮ops:

Thanks!

No more hints - I built the code system so I wouldn't have to do stuff like this that takes up what little time I have to do community and programming stuff. So any more requests by email or PM please.

After all, wouldn;t you rather more levels and the other stuff I'm working on sooner?

Yes, more levels, more levels... 😃

Anyway, you soon get a PM about level 59 of the first variety pack! 😃

OK, I have a question or two...

I was several levels into vexed before I realized that there is a PAR (similar to PAR in golf I assume) for each level.

-Are there benefits to hitting PAR, or consequences for going over PAR?
-Is PAR the absolute LEAST amount of moves?
-Will the strange character voyaging in Egypt ever get to a destination?
-Will their path ultimately create a smiley face?

(Maybe the last two were just my mind wandering off.)

1. no benefits, if you go over your ini file will be deleted 😉
(just kidding, you can make as many moves as you want!)
2. no, you can go below (yes it is possible!)
3. this is up to you 😊
4. maybe Ewan can implement this in the next update... 😃

...and pls share it with us here. thats the main purpose of this "Symbian Gaming" category... 😉

I will share the information, once I've requested and have received it, but only on request. Otherwise Vexed is getting too easy if you move from level to level by asking the solution from other people! It is share the fun, but you have to experience it first yourself alone! 😉

The PAR system has been partially implemented on this version of Vexed, so it will show Par, and number of moves taken, but (at the moment) there is no benefit to hitting Par.

In the next update to the code (not level pack release) the Par system will be fully implemented, so that your Par for an entire pack will be recorded and you can all challenge each other.
Par is not nessecarily the absolute least number of moves - due to the way the levels are created it's kinda hard to figure the exact minimum. IN most cases it is, but in a few you can save 2 or 3 moves to lower your Par for the harder levels.

Sekushi Dianno (for it is her face) is a Lara Croft style character tha I plan to use as a motif in a few games to creat a sort of swinging Indiana JOnes style chatacter so people would get involved. If any new game I release feels the need for a character, she'll get used (she's a specially commisioned character from a digital artist).

Oh and she should get to her destination in you finish a pack - but I can't remember if I implemented that in this version - it does on the ER5 packs.

And no, not a smiley face - just another "Indy" style graphic witht he red line creeping across the screen.

As to the sharing of level codes, I'd prefer it if people gave out odes on a single basis - the last thing a gamer wants or needs is a full list of codes - where's the challenge in that then?

Played level 1 till 33 in a couple of houres. (original levels)

I'm trying to solve level 34 for over 1 week now and can't get past to it.

Im beginning to think there is something wrong here.
Two other persons tried this to, with no result.

I'm I the only one with this problem, or is this level that difficult???

Ren

Right, let's get this straight. Once and for all.

Every single level of Vexed in every pack released through FreEPOC is solveable.

The catch is while many of the 'simpler' levels have more than one solution path, there are only 2 paths for Level 30 (Original pack) and 1 path for Level 34. Most people spend a few days on level 34 and then, thanks to a much more analytical brain, scream through the next ten or so.

You're not alone, but you can do it. Think about it. The game is called Vexed not Mildly Distracting For A Bit.

😃 You got that right!!! 😊 😃 😃

Come on Ren, you can do it! 😉
Load the children level pack, this one is easy to play from the first to the last level and after that you should know all the tricks and be able to solve level 34 of the first pack...
Or you send an PM to SwitchBlade, who struggled as well with that level, but passed it now, if I remember correctly. :P

Thanks for your reply's.

Still could'nt solve it, but at least I know i'm not the only one having problems with this level...

I'll keep on trying....

Ren

If you are getting too desperate, send me an PM. I tried the level yesterday again and I have to admit that the solution is not that straight forward, but possible to solve... 😉

I like the PAR thing, after completing all the packs I have gone back and am playing through them again and trying to do each level in PAR or less, 5 below PAR is my best for a level so far, and I'm getting even more enjoyment from the game as a result.

Any word on when the latest level packs will be released?

Let's have a look at the FreEPOC schedule and have a look for those new levels...

<fx: Ewan thumbs through some dynamic html pages>

Right, looks like a Java enabled version of ABP on the 7th October (this Monday), so expect some levels probably on the 21st October. The Twister level pack will be out then, and I;m debating whether to include the Confusion pack as well or switch to one pack at a time to prevent stress levels on the forum rapidly rising.

Nice one. Looking forward to the 21st October, Do the names of the new level packs, Twister and Confusion give a hint as to what we can expect in terms of stress, swearing under breath etc? 😃

Great, just when my vacation has ended there is a new level pack! This will create some stress at work... 😉
Would love to get vexed on the 7650 😃 Any plans?? 😉
Vexed is written in OPL, and unfortunatly Symbian do not have a version of the OPL runtime suitable for the 7650/Series60 phones as. If they did, trust me I would be working on Vexed! Perhaps an email to Symbian may be something you want to consider?

Alternativly (and here comes the plug) if we get a whole army of OPL develoeprs for the 9210 out, it may justify them porting OPL and ergo all those 9210 OPL apps would be on the 7650 with a little bit of work.

Imagine, we could have Vexed, Cartoon Today, RMRBank and more!

Want to help? The Developers Competition may well catch your eye - show Symbian willingness and they may come on board and help!

The packs after that are Panic and Impossible?, so I think they do. That lot should take you to Christmas at one pack every two weeks, and then there may be a lovely stocking filler in the way of an update to the code before January (time permitting).
