First of all, few questions :
- Is it legit to modify apps and post it on the forum
- I need you to guarantee that I will stay anonymous if I post a *.sis
- Even if I "break" an NDA (non disclosure agreement).
If moderator of this board does guarantee my freedom of speech above all and that no matter what he will not give my identity away then I will gift you with a 'beta recorder'.

Ligit? If the app has a copyright then no. Unless the author of the app says otherwise 😉
Moderators will do all the necessary to protect developers.
Like said by Rafe before, this forum gives the endusers direct feedback with the actual developers and we don't want this to be spoiled by some giving hacks.
What you have done is a small change, it's like skinning a app which wasn't meant to have skinning support.
At least I think of it as a minor 'hack' and actually something very useful for most users here.
You could always just check with the developers ...

UMm look its great what youve been able to do by making the application longer and what not, but lol its not like you've modified a Micorosft application here.
The app is freeware until 30th march 2003, its a non profit application, with no legal license agreement, or copyright notes, mentioned in the installation or about portion of the program. Actually there is a copyright symbol in the application under info, but considering it came with no license agreement under federal and municipal law, a (C) does not make something copyright.
Conclusion;
-No License agreement, or valid legal copyright on the application not even a patent
-Freeware until 30/03/2003
-Non profit distribution

It is a bit more complicated then that. In fact I cannot take credit for something I did not do.
I got a piece of software from -let's say- a large company under a strict NDA. There it says I cannot disclose, distribute, blah, blah blah this software if so I will be prosecuted blah blah blah.
So I made no changes to Hantro software but I do have a similar application that is much better :
1- >100 kb of recording
2- No t-mobile tag on the movie
3- No prewritten e-mail message in German (You all know what I mean).
