Airplane mode

Hey all! Perhaps I have gone daft (real possibility 😃 ), but I swear I read somewhere that the X has an airplane mode.
Is this true and where is it?
If this is not true and I have dreamt it, I shall be forced to give my X to the White Rabbit so he can call ahead and tell them that he will be late for tea! 🙄

it has something to do with starting up the phone without the simcard in it.
that way you should have more free memory.

Hi Groovy,

The X does not have an airplane mode. It was thought about originally, but then dropped, as all of the airlines back-tracked on allowing mobiles on planes. Their point was that staff could not be expected to know each and every handset type, and if theydid or didn't have this mode.

Do any new handsets have this mode at all, and have airlines changed their minds ? If so, let me know, and maybe it could be resurrected.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia N-Gage: NokiaN-GageQD/1.0 SymbianOS/6.1 Series60/1.2 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

The Nokia N-Gage and the new Nokia N-Gage QD both have an "offline" mode, as do most of Nokia's new and upcoming handsets...

Seems Nokias have this facility. I don't fly much, but I would use the facility more than the camera.

The Motorola A1000 has a flight mode.

(BTW, in the early Sendo X demos, it mentions "flight mode"😉

The SE P910i has a flight mode. Would be nice to have the same implemented in the X, gps navigation when receiving a call is deactivated.
