Hi,
I bought a 7650 last week and already love it death. The fone is the bees knees, it really is! I guess you guys already knew that 😊
Anyhoo, I've been trying to setup my WAP connection. I'm using an Orange PAYG SIM, WAP works on my 8210 and my 7110 (God bless that phone...).
I've added an Access Point in the Tools->Settings->Connection menu, however when I go to "Services" in the main menu and try to access any WAP sites, the phone tells me that no Access Points are defined.
O...kay. It's lying to me.
It asks me if I want to create a new one, so I say "yes". I enter all the Orange settings again and the phone saves the settings. When I try to use WAP again it tells me again I haven't got any APs defined. Even more lies!
Anyone else faced this?
Thanks,
paul
If you've had your settings received as a smart mesage (Like I did) you'll have created a set of settings, as well as a homepage.
The settings HAVE to have a homepage otherwise they don't show up as access settings.
you can't just make a "homepage" under services and asume that the settings will pick it up. you have to explicitly  tell them what the page is within the setting itself.
I'd give you more detail but I can't remember the menu sequence and my phone is in for repair
That did the trick. Not immeadiately obvious that is it?
Thanks mate.

I think you have to register an Orange mailbox through their website. I imagine that this isn't free :/
--edit--
What did you do to get Orange to send you the settings?
Jac,
AS far as your e-mail goes, My mailbox is under a different access point entirely.
I'm using O2 Wap as all my calls to it are free, (915000) and I've set up a separate e-mail address using a pay-as-you-surf account from Virgin.net
([email protected]) Which I access through their 0845 number as if I'm connecting on my PC.
You should be able to get a POP3 account from Orange, but may not access it in the same way.
As for your other point, Orange will send you the settings if you ask them very nicely.
or click onto
http://www.orange.co.uk/mobileemail/personal/configurator/phone_only_01.html?_phonenumber=undefined
and fill in your details. You may have more luck pretending to be a 7110 owner 😉
