Symbian is aware that an illegally adapted or cracked game called Mosquitos is being distributed by warez websites (illegal software download sites) and on peer-to-peer (P2P) networks.* This game has been illegally adapted from the legitimate Mosquitos game developed by Ojom. Since nobody on this forum downloads and install warez, this is just interesting but not of any concern, right. 😃

This has been around for a vey long time. I think I remember see something about it back at the beginning og the year. I can't say I'm terribly sympathetic to those who are affected.

Its easy to get rid off - just unistall the illegal app.

I was hesitant about posting myself, but as BBC web site posted and speaking to others on forum I decided to post.

Slightly OT, has anyone played the Ojom proper version of "Mosquitos"?

Is it any good as a game???

I think the discussion about warez is irrelevant. I believe that every one of us here has some piece of pirate software, unintentionally or not, in some device at home or at work. This time it was a Mosquito-crack, next time it may be in some other software (freeware, shareware or commercial software) that many of us happily download and believe to be safe enough. The problem is that software now may contain code that uses your phone in a way you really don't want it to. This needs to be stopped!

My post here is a plea to antivirusmakers and other programmers to make a piece of software that either protects us from this or at least notifies us that the phone wants to send an SMS or likewise. I really hope that this will be found in future firmware or as downloadable programs, like the CABIR-fix and the bluejacking issue.
