HI,
i have set up my 7610 it connects to the internet via gprs.
i create an email and send it but it does not send it becomes queued in my out box.
It connects to my ISP
any ideas where i am going wrong is there a setting i need to change.
Thanks
ken
The outgoing email server (the SMTP, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, server) must be your operator's SMTP server and not your ISP's SMTP server (unless they are the same provider in which case they'd usually be the same).
Your operator is, in all likelihood, not allowing any SMTP traffic through its network, except via its own servers.
To disagree with N/A....
I set my settings up (O2 Network, UK) and used my main PC-Based ISP E-mail servers and settings (as found in outlook).
I tried to send an e-mail using my GPRS Connection. No Joy.
I then used a different set of GPRS settings designed specifically for mobile internet (e-mail, proper web browsing, presence etc) NOT WAP SITES.
This worked perfectly, so i can collect all my proper e-mail using my phone.
So in summary, my phone uses 3 seperate GPRS settings:
1 for MMS
1 for GPRS WAP
1 for GPRS INTERNET.
I believe your problem lies in your GPRS settings, as that turned out to be the case for me.
Hope this helps

Hi Stokie,
Is there any way you can post your all three of your gprs settings. I have email setup for hotmail, but cannot send email. I am in US with T-Mobile and unlimited Internet access.
Thanks.

First of all,
it would not be the best idea to disagree with N/A (one of the more experienced forum members who know what they are talking about)
secondly,
according to this hotmail does not support pop3 e-mail clients so that may be your first problem.
