WISHES FOR NEW APPLICATION FOR THE 7650.

Ah good. The answering machine was on my list too...

Those are good ones. I will see what can be done. The problem being that the documentation is useless, I am having to learn stuff on a hit and try basis. Symbian really screwed up on the documentation.

Thanks for the list... (I hope all of them are freeware, but depends. 😉)

Ah well. After battling with the SDK here is my first app. Nothing much really as you will read.. But still just thought I will let you know.. I am working on improving this app, as well as doing some more apps. (I was trying to implement the Keylock thing, but the lack of documentation put me off.. I might give it another try though).

Yippy,
Answering Machine 😃 .
How about a clock ,
the build in clock is useless, I have to set it everyday.
I wish to have a freeware like Handy Clock & WorldClock,
they said that it is all built in but Nokia didn't expose them.
Damn Nokia
All the user have to pay extra to get a built-in function,Damn you Nokia

I won't waste my money for any built-in functions.
I hope that someone will stand out. :-?

Others told me that
The alarm clock is already running in the system.
Just like the 9210.
Symbian itself already support 8 alarm clock & they are ready to be used.
I just don't know why Nokia don't want to expose them.
The Alarm clock it an essential function for any Mobile phone nowaday.
It is ridiculous that the alarm function of my old phone is better that 7650 which is so called a smartphone 😃
Calendar,Alarm,Clock,Reminder,Voice recorder should be provided by all the smartphone.
Whayt do you think?

I dont know abou the integrated alarm clock but I think that the alarm of the 7650 is no good! I agree that they could at least make an effort to improve some basic functions of the phone! Its a shame to spend bucks on software that should be there at the first place!

Most probably the reasonn you have to reset the time on your phone is because the PC you synchronise with has got the time wrong on it.

OTOH, you might have been complaining about the need to tell the alarm to wake you up every day. In which case ignore the above.

Rafe has setup a brand new forum, Development / Symbian C++ . I urge members to frequent this forum for keeping in touch further development news. Also there shall be tutorials on getting started etc soon, so hopefully more people will be involved in developing applications for the 7650.

Hello,
some of you want a gameboy emulator. You can find it here.
But i havent tested it.

greetings , fred 8)

A Telnet Client would be cool

And maybe a software 2 change the rolling txt in the shopping windows, there is a IR in most of them

Telnet, try searching the AAS software directory.

Id like to see the wonderful efile manager with a simple restart function included rather than having systems tools installed as well :bday:

Then go and get Domi's FExplorer. just 28Kb. And Restart function.
And "backlight on" option too.

Try Domi's FileExplorer v 1.06,now it has the restart function.

making a request for an app (if not allready done)

an app wich makes the 7650-joystick act as a mouse on my comp.
(bluetooth)
(i know there is something called wireless mouse, but i dont have it😊)
That way i could surf the net from my couch watching it on tv.

..hey.. its just a wish right.... 😊

Well I would love to have a hardware monitor on my 7650 (not netmonitor).
To be more specific a program that it will give information like a signal meter in % style, battery's temprature, gprs banwidth meter/second,battery calculator (meening how much time it will last until the battery's going empty like the one Sony-Ericsson's mobiles have),cpu usage,etc....

1. InfraRed control tool, for TVs, VTRs, etc.
2. Fax sending
3. Program for PC, that able to control and backup all files, just like Nokia7650 is a removable storage drive (PCsuite sucks!)
4. remote bluetooth joystick for gaming
5. beer time reminder :P

many classic games i see on 7650, sucks. may be in the future this fact will be changed... i dont know...

Well I agree about 2 and 3.
! is almost impossible. I have seen that it is possible with some tricks on pc's in some way to make a standard infrared remote control to work with an irda dongle but it was useless because you the max distance you could get was 1meter.

4 for me is useless. Better buy a Logitech wingman cordless (uses the same technoly with bluetooth but I don't think it is compatible with the standard) or just wait, Microsoft allready created a mouse and keybord bluetooth set... we may also see a gamepad/joystick.

5?.....no comment! 😃

And about the games, I prefer the classics than fancy looking (doom is an exception because it's a classic and not only good looking)

I have played some 3d games and I was dissapointed (like mgs Karting,Interstellar flames, etc etc). While classics are great (puzzle bobble, Prince of persia) and they are much smaller (doom is again an exception). So I prefer to have A goboy version with battery/save state emulation/support and play final fantasy legend, mario land 2,zelda...
Until then tetris and castlevania legends are enough.

PS: Not forget frodo (c64 emu) with Bubble Bobble, Zorro and many other classics. I am still waiting for this.....

I need some sort of program for my 7650 that does the things that nokia data suite does for the other models, ie 6310i shed loads of stuff on the cd that came with that phone, hardly anything on the cd that came with my lovely left out in the dark 7650.

can any one suggest a piece of software to do the job.

thanks 😃

I bought a TDK USB Bluetooth adaptor, the contact manager with that doesn't work with the 7650 either, this must be a conspiracy......NO I'm not changing my phone....

... Think more about the things that would be useful to you in terms of being connected to the Internet while you are mobile. Think client-server, with small clients that might integrate a number of the underlying technologies such as MMS, WAP Push, WAP, alerts, etc. Think Network, where the network allows you to connect to your stuff.

A text editor would be great together with the existing FTP client. Right now I can upload pictures to my Web and publish them using a Blog and some knd of gallery software (http://m-cam.sno.pp.se/pp7650/) while on the move, but I'd really love to be able to edit all HTML files on my Web.

A small SSH2 client would also be useful. With this I'd be able to administrate the entire Web.

hi!

- Infrared Universal Remote Control (for everything, using brand codes)

- The Background change every day that can be on the calendar options, we assign to each day of the week one BG 😊 (BTW! by now we can use an GIF slideshow as a BG and put 24 hours show to each frame, so there we have a different BG each 24 h. 😃 )

- A Fade in and Fade out for the Backlight, for more softness and style 8)

- Fade in and Fade out Menus 😃 , and transparent value

- TRUE TYPE FONTS system and apps compatible, to assign any style, type and font size for menus and apps, and almost 3 different icon sizes (using rescale of the same icon to save memory of course)

- Automatic Bluetooth turn on when needed and turn off time out when is not in use to save battery. (system options)

- Voice Commands App, to show pictures, to run any app, to play a mid song, etc.

- Pop up configurable start menu (like windows Start menu), like when you use New Msg. on the softkey and you press it and you see SMS, EMAL, MMS.. well the same, but said START key and we assign the list of things to see or play or run. And that it use little submenus too.

ok thats it by now 😃

cya!

paint app.
external bluet. hd enabler app
an app for to understand the letters that we shot through camera.(like the ones for scanners) it enough even it can only understand machine writing.

An Icon customizer!!!

And a way of removing standard apps that have been replaced with much better aftermarket ones.. (dreaming maybe..)

- APP FOR WEBCAM CAPABILITIES
- A COMPACT APP that include every small details (kelock, restart, torch, and all those small but usefull sofware all in one app.)

Still looking forward for the Webcam Capblity... so that i wont hav to buy a webcam anymore... 😃

I'd like the option to be able to auto sync with other 7650's regarding contacts and calendar. My girlfriend has a 7650 and it would be handy to know what we are both doing, easiest way would be just to view calendar and her schedule appears there without having to select each individual thing and sending via BT.

FExplorer by Domi
restart, torch, screencapture. And filebrowser of course.
