Yesterday i tried to update my french sendo x (Pixmania) with the Portuguese firmware and... IT WORKED! 😃
Now i have the latest firmware and the Portuguese language. :icon14:
About the issues i had, the problem with sending call identification is solved, the access to wap with gprs is also solved, but the problem of pressing the red key with screensaver and phone locked it's NOT solved. :frown:
The sms counter bug continues but that was already reporded in another thread.
About the cracks and pops on the sound i've not tested it yet.
But yes, always happier with the sendo 😎

Is there an an English Language as a choice in the Portugese update for the Sendo X?
will this not mess up the phone?

Try uninstalling the USB driver and reinstall with the version from sendos website.
Then put phone back into update mode, remember if you power up and the sendo X animation doesn't appear before the update screen on your phone then it isnt actually in update mode. If it goes straight to the update screen without the the animation then power off and back on whilst holding down the * button.
Then check your download software you downloaded from the sendo website has the same SPN number is found on the label behind where the battery lives under "Made in Netherlands"
Hope that helps!

Yes, English is in ALL of the packs.

The only problem doing this might be the loss of operator settings, like for MMS / WAP / etc, but you can simply fix that by resending them from the Sendo website:

Which updates can I use in the French Sendo X?
I would like to install a UK release or a Spanish release, but what concerns me is if there will be a type of 'branding' to the update that may cripple my version of Sendo X. I do NOT want any themes or graphics to permanantly reside in memory showing the type of update directly related to the network provider in control of the update. Or is this something I don't need to worry about?..... thanks.

Yeah BUT WHERE IS THE FRENCH ONE !!!???????
This is getting ridicilous!!
I updated my French phone with the Portuguese firmware and all worked flawlessly. The language remained in English and no settings were lost. Thanks for this time-saving discovery!
But can you ever go back to the French one?
I want the UK one really, don't see why Sendo won't let us use it TBH. I only got a french one coz they didn't get it out in UK fast enough...

Yes, but I need the norwegian special letters, since I live in Norway 😊, and I
don't know if they are embedded in the portuguese firmware.
Maybe you could check? The letters are , , these are found under
the 2-key (pressing 6 and 7 times), and the , which is found under the 6-key
(pressing 6 times).
My phone is not tied to any subscriber, maybe I could use whatever firmware
I like even If I bought it from France???? Know anything about this??
Under "About" on my phone it says: SPN:0000-00000-00000 !!
Thx 😊
i saw it:d but what sucks is that i cant find an internet cafe in tehran where they have anythin faster than a dial-up connection , i tried downloadin the fw with 5kbps but it keeps breakin off after it has downloaded 6mb😞 , so now finally after waitin for weeks for the new fw i have to wait and search for someplace where i can download the damn 30mbs😞( i feel like cryin

can't you make a small trip to pakistan?
they have cable for homes there...
Well, I've just put 60D (portugese version) on my Pixmania (French) handset - it installed fine, no problems at at that stage.
Rebooted, restored my UK settings onto the phone - fine!
Played an MP3, called my Pixmania handset - works flawlessly!
Un-paused MP3, called the handset again - works flawlessly!
The one thing which is wierd is that it now won't let me install any new software - it says "Access Denied", although I can copy files to the phone, and can syncronise / back it up to the PC! *wierd*
That sounds a bit odd! Can u not install anything at all?

It works fine, I did it also and have had no problems. The handset even started i English after I did a memory clear - so its better than the french one! 😊
I would recommend the newer release, it just seems much more stable and generally better.
Has anyone tried this on the Vodafone handset yet?
Cash wrote:I have exactly the same problem
hmm great so what do we do now man??????? hey PLINKY cant u tell the dudes at sendo to upload the file on some server that doesnt disconnect the download after 9mbs??????
I updated my french phone with the portugese firmware.. everything was working for a while and then my phone just started dropping calls left and right.. it was dropping calls every 2 or 3 seconds and i had to go back to the previous french version.. no troubles now.
weird! :frown:
omegax wrote:Has anyone tried this on the Vodafone handset yet?
I want to know too. Can I use the Expansys version?
Did anyone try that?
Otherwise, I might switch to Nokia6630. I've been waiting for this fw for so long.
I hope the new fw could make the phone faster since it's kind of slow :frown:
I dont think the phones slow since mine works pretty damn well, but theres always room for improvement 😊
Im waiting for someone else to try out the firmware on Vodafone first before i do.

Don't be chicken, just do it.... and when you do, be prepared to join the club!
Why should i risk making my phone not work when i dont know if the firmware is even compatible, and that my phone works great already?
Its not being a chicken, its called being sensible.
We all know that you dont like the phone, so you dont have to keep going on about it. Whats done is done.
