French phone, Portuguese firmware

Did the same with mine and now call quality sucks even more. In fact I have had to give up using the phone.

Of course it would be nice if Sendo pulled their fingers out and release the French update.

Oh well roll on my new Orange C500 which looks like a much superior phone and not the rubbish that the Sendo X is.

The Sendo's certainly not a rubbish phone, and if you apply a firmware thats not made for you version of the phone, you have to expect that something may go wrong.

Patience is a virtue.

Oh well not worried about the Sendo anymore.

Just spoke to 02 as my contract is due up and just blagged a p910i free.
So goodbye Sendo and thanks for wasting my money

Its not being a chicken, its called being sensible.

We all know that you dont like the phone, so you dont have to keep going on about it. Whats done is done.

Sensible.... yes

Now at first, my PURCHASE was thought to be sensible as such others. YOU ARE VERY VERY LUCKY. And you are also too serious and literal. Hope the Sendo never fails for you because you might just end up going crazy... or maybe you are passive aggressive??? Luckily I can tolerate most problems, although Sendo X is a special pain in my positive and cohesive lifestyle.

In fact, in this forum, you seem to be the luckiest one. That creates envy! But, those who have sold recently will appreciate any phone out there after using Sendo X. And I do mean any, especially for those very patient (... were very patient). I too agree that smartphones are there yet, but this next year will be the turn of the future. Think, if Sendo was as great as it was expected to be, but times 100... someone should do the research on some LG phones, using 7 MP camera, HD video streaming @ 37fps, TV AV out, etc..... that will be the shizzznit.

Time to rizzle my fizzle... whatever that is!

You dont have to start trying to get all passive agressive on me, im not stupid, i know the phone has its faults, i know ALL phones have their faults, and i also know that my phone works great with my experiences.

I know what phones are around the corner and what they should be capable of, but the almighty phones will have an almighty price tag, but with my Sendo, i got more than i payed for. It was a Smartphone at a bargin (in phone terms) price.

You can give up on one phone and go to another because you can affored to, but i on the other hand cannot, so i work with what i've got, and ive got something good.

A mate of mine has the C500 and says its great, so its the C500 for me.

Sendo you have had your chance and let "most" of us down.

Hi Omega,

I am certainly not having a go at you, but it seems that you and stu are really the only people that are really happy with your phones (maybe you were lucky and got a couple of stable phone), and maybe 1 or 2 others are reasonably happy, but the majority on this forum are totally dissatisfied, we now have 5 registered users who want to ditch the phone, and I would not be surprised if a few more follow suit.

Most of us have had phones for quite a few months, we have had one firmware that has not really fixed any of the major problems, the new firmware, whether it has been applied to the correct phone or not has also not solved the MAJOR problems, and created other problems (again for the majority on this forum). and the French firmware hasn't actually been released yet (why cant they just release a general firmware for the phone that fixes the bugs, and a dedicated firmware for the individual operators and countries), surely their main priority is to keep their end users happy, thats plain and simple good business practice.

This is a numbers game, and the numbers say the phone does not do what its supposed to do, whats the point of bringing out a sophisticated phone with all the bells and whistles if the majority of users cant use them, let alone make or receive calls and txt msgs.

I really am glad that you are happy with your phone, but you have to realise that if you have a good phone, you look positively on it, if you have a bad phone you look negitively on it, and as I said most of us have a bad phone, so for the majority the phone is actually quite useless and therefore rubbish.

I know your not having a go, dont worry. The way i see it is that everyone on this forum arnt the only ones that use the Sendo. Most people use the internet to find and get help with problems, and yes to raise their dislike of products.

I really do sympathise with you. I am sorry that your Sendo isnt working properly, but there has to be a light at the end of the tunnel if there are phones out there that work 😊 Obviously its your money and your choice, im not going to tell you what to do, but i wish you luck with what you do do.

I really wanted the Sendo X to work. I had read all the reviews and the phone seemed fantastic, but I felt let down from day one. The terrible reception is what has annoyed me the most. I wouldn't mind if there were a few bugs if the phone actually worked as a phone but the fact that I couldnt even receive calls properly in my home just annoyed me so much.
I work in IT in a hospital and have to do oncall and I couldnt do it properly as I was relying on the phone to function well as a phone. If they had got that right and then sorted the other minor bugs then that would have been fine. But the call quality was and still is crap and GPRS was just unreliable. I have even given up sending MMS messages as they won't send even though they were fine on my Moto V600.
I wanted to use the phone to its full functionality but couldnt and I didn't feel like a had a smartphone at all.
I am embarrassed to own this phone.
The lack of even a simple case at launch meant the screen is now scratched from having been in my pocket and the whole ownership has been an unreliable (and costly ) one.
That's why I am going for another phone.

Yes the SE P910i is a bit bigger, but is well proven and there is a huge amount of software for it. I am sure it will have a few niggles and I know I will have to do some firmware updating but first and foremost it will work as a phone. No more "Sorry I can't here you.." calls and I will be able to use it as a proper smartphone. I will be able to do everything on this phone that I couldnt do on the Sendo.
I really do hope that all you people with problems to get them sorted but for me this phone is not reliable enough for me to own. It cost me 300 to find that out which I hate and the chances of me selling the phone are zero.

Just my 2p

Are you in the UK and if so did you buy it from a UK company, if the phone dont work you can send it back for a refund by LAW.

I feel let down too, and i made a very expensive mistake. I have gone back now to my se k700, and i feel that i have had a phone upgrade! i can recieve calls fine, and the phone feels so much more polished. i wanted a smartphone, i just dont think the sendo is that smart.
I think i will give it another year until i touch a smartphone again, and see how thaing sare then.

I've got a c500, and (as you all know) a couple of Sendo Xs. The c500 is *sh*te* in comparison...such a hard to use, non-intuitive, pile of junk phone! Give me my X any day of the week!

The thing about the X is that (and I was sceptical about this) Now! is just so damned useful! why doesn't every other phone have this???

My X is now being used on Orange, and I have just one complaint - I haven't yet been able to fool their WAP site into believing I'm using a 6600 (I get text menus on the x, where as a mate's 6600 gets pictures)

The olnly problem i have with the Now! screen is that i think it takes up quite a bit of RAM with all th eplugins it uses. As you say i tink its very useful, but it would be nice to have the option to turn it on, or off.

Well at the moment I am just waiting for the French f/w before I make my final decision on whether to send it back of not, Thats what I have always said, but how long do I wait,

At the moment where I live I can only get dial up and the download for the portugese language keeps crashing, although I have noticed that somebody has kindly put up a link to several smaller downloads so I may give that a try first.

The jury is still out at the moment!!!!!!!!
