Im not sure whether this has been posted before but if you buy this adaptor (originally made for an iPaq) you can use your own headphones when listening to MP3's, or watching video's etc. I have one and it works perfectly 😊
You will have to remove it to anwer the phone though because it doesnt have an hands free mic.
Well I've made one myself from a simple old motorola hands free, just cut the earphone and solder a mini-jack adapter,
so I use my headphones and I can receive calls!!! the best part is that I've got a fm transmiter in my car and so I just plug it on the standard mini jack and I have a car hand free using my car radio! 🙄
I could have just used my old Nokia hands free set, but then i couldnt have used my decent Sony headphones 😊

If anyone would like me to integrate your favorite earbuds in your Sendo X earphones, please email me at:

I have the skills to pay the bills...
Just a quick question about that adaptor. What kind of volume do you get? Cos the current Sendo earphones have a volume modifier on them, thus making it possible to get some serious volume, should you need it. With this adaptor, when you turn your X's volume up to the max, is the corresponding volume you get out of your own headphones (which in my case do not have a volume control) the same as having the X's AND it's earphones at the max too, or is the result a much quieter output?
Cheers guys.
With any adaptor, you dont get volume control. What you basically get is preset loud, which is enough to listen to outside etc. You would have to own some headphones or an adaptor with volume control to make it any louder or quieter.
This doesn't work for me at all :icon13:
The 3 pin connector seems to be thinner than the 4 pin version that is used on the headphones that come with the Sendo X. I can use it if the phone sits on my desk and doesn't move - otherwise it just falls out!
A bit of googling led me here:

I've ordered one of the PX35A adapters. I've no idea if it will work with the X, but I figured I'll give it a go and see what happens 😃
My adaptor always worked fine, so i dont know why it wouldnt work for you. Im sure there are better ones out there, most likely the on the site you posted 😊
I hope the adaptor works for you mate 😊
I had another look around the Pc-Mobile site and it seems there are actually quite a few different ones:
http://pc-mobile.net/audioadapter.htm
Of course, they all look the same so I've no idea which one will work with the X, although I'd guess that the one that works is the P800 one. I've sent them an email asking them about this. Hopefully they will be able to tell me which is the one that works with the X.
You may also beneift from cantacting sendo, see if they will ever consider producing a headphone adaptor with volume control 😊
On a fairely related note, hows the OGG player coming along?
Yeah, but we don't really need a volume control - OggPlay has one 😊
I've been fiddling too much with the code but it's done now. Just got to write some html and put it on the web somewhere. Should be done this evening sometime.
...and so do my headphones so I'm happy with just the cable. Hopefully Pc Mobile will know what a Sendo X is and send me the right adapter.
As promised in an earlier thread... You are the OGG god 😊
You're on the soundforge website arn't you? wont you be able to host the file there?
no, it's just going to be an unoffical release at the moment. Once a few people have tested it we'll make an official development/unstable release.
Well i have some space if you want to use it. Its only something blueyonder has allocated me, but you are more than welcome to it 😊
I got a fairly helpful reply from PcMobile:
>>WE do not have Sendo X here so do not know which, if any, of the adapters we have is compatible.
>>PX35A is unlikely to be compatible.
>>I have read some forums and it seems some are using MP35A successfully.
>>But we give no guarantee as we cannot test it ourselves.
So I've ordered a MP35A and a SP83A (P800 adapter). Hopefully one of them will work on the X. Can't wait to try them out, Pc-Mobile have dispatched my order already and it should arrive in a couple of days 😊
You'll have to let us know how it works out. If its better than mine, ill have to spend some more money 😃
i bought this on ebay, cos it looked like exactly the same as the one mentioned earlier, only it's cheaper:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6363975433
anyway, when it arrived, the volume and sound quality was fine, but i only got sound out of the right ear. i have to slightly pull the jack out a little to get sound through both ears, but this is pointless since it only takes the slightest movement and it reverts back to just the left - not much use when you're out and about in town and can't sit pefectly still!
can anyone explain why this is? is this product diferent from the one on page 1?
any help would be much appreciated guys.
have no issue with the headphones that comes with the Sendo X, about the only thing I would like it to be is retractable.
found this
http://www.javoedge.com/simtrix/productMtce/productDetail.do?state=init&productId=171&productRef=PEBU-61113-01&category=HEADPHONES
but it doesnt come with a mic, think it would be a great product if it did
saying that from above I did end up finding this thing from SEIDO

has anyone tried this out

xiga, that's exactly what happened to me.
I've now got my MP35A and SP83A cables from Pc-Mobile. The SP83A doesn't work - the sound that comes out is mono. The MP35A does work but the left and right channels are swapped. Now there's a small chance that it's not the cable - maybe OggPlay is somehow swapping the channels. I hadn't bothered to check before so although it's unlikely it is possible. Unfortunately I've left my original Sendo headphones at work, so I won't be able to confirm for sure that the problem is the cable until tomorrow.
Nevertheless, now that I can use my own headphones the sound is so much better 😃

I bought the lead on page 1 and had the same problem - I noticed however that the recess around the socket on the phone doesn't alow the jack to fit right in so I whittled a bit of the plastic away so it fits snuggly. This moved the problem to the other end of the adaptor! Tthe jack going in has to be left slightly out to get both channels working! That said it stays in place better than the phone end and as I am using it with a car kit and my computer speakers in the office its not really a problem. Not a good solution if you want to go jogging though...
I posted several months ago about an adapter I bought from Expansys. It works really well with my Sony headphones and the X. It has a built in microphone so it turns your headphones into a headset.
I cannot remember the part number but you should be able to find the post by searching for my user name.
Heres the link you posted..

12.95 though + p&p
Why are expansys always so expensive ! ( and appear to the the only official UK stockist for sendo kit ! )
G
I've tried the Expansys cable as well. Unfortunately, like the MP35A, the left and right channels are reversed. The MP35A is a lot cheaper too.
My quest for the perfect adapter continues....
damn, just ordered the expansys one. sounds like i wasted some cash then.
anyway, just out of interest, does it really matter if the channels are swapped? i mean, surely it still sounds pretty much the same, no? i imagine that as long as you're getting stereo sound out of both channels then that's all that matters.
can anyone coment on this?
Have to agree with you - For music who cares if the stereo image is reversed ! - for games agreed might be a bit strange.
G
I'm kinda confused by all these links. Can someone just tell me what I should get. Preferably, I would like retractable ones with volume control.
To be honest I don't really care about the swapped channels, I'm just being overly fussy (my star sign is Virgo so it figures).
However, I bought a pair of in-the-ear headphones at the weekend for use at work. They are a lot quieter than my other headphones so less likely to annoy the people who sit near by. The only problem is that they don't have a volume control and the software volume control on the X doesn't work properly!
Try plugging your headphones in and then setting the volume control of the built in mp3 player or OggPlay or some other player to 0. With my new headphones it's just way too loud. The volume control on the X gives me a choice between loud and very loud!!!! Does anyone else have this problem!?
right,
i ordered the one off expansys and it arrived today.
i can say that it works perfectly well. yes, the channels are swapped, but this makes absolutely no difference at all. i don't use oggplayer (too buggy and unresponsive) so i'm just using the biult in mp3 player (don't know what all the fuss is really, i think it's fine). the volume i'm getting is only slightly below what you'd get with the phone AND supplied earphones up to the max, which is a heck of a lot, so overall i'm a happy camper.
one thing though, i did have to whittle some of the plastic coating away with a penknife to get it to insert fully into the jack on the X but this was easy, and now i'm in sonic heaven!
woo-hoo!
hope this helps
