I feel so stupid, but i might not be the only one! In order for the Bemused Server to connect to the Serial Port I had to input COM10 instead of 10. Thats why it did not work! I am programming and using computers for 15 years now and this was one of the most silly things I have done! There was even am example i.e COM4 but I thought that u just have to enter a single number!
Well thanks for the quick support on hour questions and problems and congratulations for this nice piece of Software! 😃
i wont bother sending my songlist.dat file now, i'll see if v1.1 sorts it.
i was going to ask for the option to shut down the computer. you must be psychic. how about a timer setting? i.e. shut your computer down after an hour playing music, i have the option on my alarm clock and it means i can listen to music whilst i go to sleep (i find it theraputic). no harm in asking i spose. oh yes and the ability to view/remove items from the playlist?
thanks again for a great app 😃
Heyyyyy it worked com4 instead of 4
i must be stupid or something
But thanx anyway and the option to turn of the pc is great thnx
@malebuffy: No, not true? 😮 me too... shame on me... 😮ops:
Empty subfolders in the mp3 directory seems to cause some errors while refreshing list. I removed some empty folders and now it works without any errors.
wow... finally i've got a connection to the phone, but - the refreshing takes endless time...? phone stucks now for five mins in "refreshing list" ?
Now that this winamp remote control works, hiw about adding functions like controlling mouse?
I know an application exist for T68i. Is it much harder to develop for 7650?
How about searching through the music on the phone like you search for names in the address book?
Or how about specifing the Mp3 folder from the phone instead of the Server! Or use multiple folder locations?
Mental Blank - i'm still getting the same problem with my song list even with v1.1. there are loads of songs missing - whole directories and others appear as if they're in my root music directory but they aren't and don't play (cause there is a sub folder missing in the path). there's no such problem when i specify smaller folders or sub-folders instead of my entire music one.
i've attached my songlist.dat file as you requested
it's more of an annoyance than anything.
a couple of times when i've refreshed the list it returns something like
operation completed with error -20
or something like that. other times no error.
thanks.
I had the exact same problem as you (error -20) until I removed all folders that were empty.

but i don't have any empty subfolders!
well ive given up on getting pc suite to work with my tdk, but bemused works a treat, first attempt, what a refreshing change !!
Cheers fella.
I am having problem using bemused. On the pc side i can it say "Connected to port COM7" but when I using the phone to do a refresh list it comes back with message "Command completed with error -6310"
Any clue what's wrong? I am using Nokia DTL-1 BT cf card.
Anyone know how to add another COM port with the XTNDConnect software? 😞
version 1.21 of Bemused seems to be released
http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~ashley/bemused/
Version 1.21
------------
- Added David Carson's change to detect location of message store
- Fixed problem with downloading song lists on some Bluetooth dongles
- If currently selected song doesn't fit on screen, it will now be scrolled
😃 :bday: 😃
How much space does it take up on the phone?! Sounds excellent tho!
The amount of space Bemused takes up depends on the skin(s) you use and the number of songs you have on your PC. On average, somewhere between 50K and 100K.
By the way... I should point out that the version 1.21 of Bemused I uploaded a few days ago had a stupid bug - if you've downloaded it and are seeing a "E32User-CBase 21" message when you start the program, download it from my website again 😮ops:
Not really related to the conversation here, but I'm gonna say it anyway 😊 .
I use WAP to control WinAmp 😉
Nice, but pretty useless....why use WAP when you can use BT.....dont tell me when you are not at home or something like that....plz! 😊

Takes no space on the phone, longer range.
And of course when you're not home, you can arrange your playlists.
EDIT: Oh, no need to buy an expensive bluetooth dongle.

Nice one!

Useless, when I am not home, I am doing something else than arranging my playlist......I never do that when I a AM home.
EDIT: Oh, no need to buy an expensive bluetooth dongle.
And after a while you will have payed more in WAP Calls than I bought the BT adapter...and I will keep going free and you will pay.
Anyways.....who exactly are u doing this? I mean...thats why u posted right?

You have to use it quite damn lot before it costs more than a bluetooth-dongle. Especially when you have the "2meg free"-a month thing.
I... Didn't quite understand the latter question.
Shit I ment how instead of who! 😃
...who exactly are u doing this?...
I think he meant to say:
how (small typo) exactly are u...
Im interested too 😃
Well, if I understood it right this time ( 😊 ) :

Ok, nice 😃
but not usefull for me.
Bemused Rocks! 😃 😃 😃
Hmm - bluetooth seems cooler - anyhow - Ermmm... yeah bemused is cool

Had the same problem. After clearing all the checkboxes in mrouter (nokia pcsuite) and filling in COM3 in bemused it would work.
But if I let bemused connect to COM7 and make sure this port is free in mrouter, it won't refresh the file list on my phone.
