Who still own's a mighty Big N console? Great console, but lacked enough games, and they were 50 pound! I think I managed to buy 5 all at full price.
N64
Ugh, bought one about 6 years ago - worst purchase I've ever made. After playing (and really trying to like) Super Mario in 3D (beyond cr@p) and 1080 (even cr@ppier snowboard game) I got rid of it. I'm sure there were made much better games, but the whole experience just reminded me of why I've never been a big fan of Nintendo in the first place.
I've got a Sega Megadrive laying around though - now that was/is a great console! 😊

dear jesus, you havent played goldeneye?
Ahh yes, another console i owned, sold it years back, when i get some money, im gonna buy a mega cd and mega drive set off ebay. As good as having the actual console is, espcially with Mega Drive, and Snes, emulation is better. You can get any game, and I played Streets of Rage online. With Snes alot of the best games are in japanese and people have translated them, so i reckon emulation's better than the real thing espically 16 bit consoles.

Ok the 1080 was surely crap but Mario 64 was superb. The 3d camera movement was so good that even some of todays 3d games cannot equal it. Although I didn't own one I had an SNES (great console by the way) previously and also played many games of N64 on my PC through emulation. N64 had many great games. Goldeneye (HALO of it's time), Mario Parties, Yoshi story, Zeldas (Majora's Mask but mainly Ocarina of time), and many more. I must admit that Ocarina of time was a game enough to buy the console.
By the way I still own an SNES. I could easily say that I prefered it much more than the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive and its games. Today is a little different. I prefer Nintendo's and Sega's games much more than most of the games for Sony's PS (GTAs are an exception)

My problem with that game, and many of today's games is that it all looks pretty, but the gameplay is awful. I found the controls in that game to be absolutely unbearable. I should mention that I'm not very fond of 3D games sin general though (except for 1st person shooters).

I can't believe you prefer SNES over Megadrive... 😮
But to each his own. 😊
If I could have my pick of all the games and understand Japanese i'd rather a Snes too. It was better for rpg fans, but then Mega Drive has Phantasy Star, and Streets of Rage is one of the best. Another classic which was on both is Smash Tv. Ahhh back in the day. I play older systems, not just ps2 and Xbox.
Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition for the Megadrive was actually the most expensive game I ever bought (€100), but also the one which gave me the most value. 😊 Good times.
100 pounds? Rip off.
I hate beat em up's.
100 euros, that's less in pounds!
100 Euro. At that time it was probably the most advanced console game out. Other Megadrive games didn't cost nearly as much btw. Street Fighter II is a classic and one of the best fighting games ever made IMO. I even like it more than Tekken 3 and the likes.
yeh but still! I did dig Street Fighter II Turbo, but I can't say I'm a huge beat em up fan.
I was mainly a platform and RPG gamer . I loved Super Marios (especially Yoshi's Island) and of course all the Donkey Kong Country's. But most of all the type of games RPGs were the best on SNES. I loved playing Zelda:Link to the Past or Secret of Mana...

Street Fighter II Turbo was my first beat'em up for the SNES. It was very good but till Super Street Fighter II came and quite quickly I must add. But the biggest addiction from Beat'm ups came from Killer Instinct (Making combos up to 46hits, Ultras , Ultimates , and the very good fatalities like Mortal Kombat) Too bad the sequel was...garbage. And I doubt if there will be any new sequel especially after seeing Rare being sold to Microsoft. And that's very bad for the franchise that created combo moves and in my opinion it is still the best on this part.
Nowadays I mainly play FPS games. Deus Ex: Invisible War, Far Cry, Doom 3 and now Half Life 2 are the latest I've been playing. But still none of them can touch the quality of the original Deus Ex (ok maybe Half Life 2 can).
PS: Has anyone played Torment. I have heard that it is the best RPG plotwise...
Come on, SNES whooped the Megadrive.
