Message stuck in outbox

10 replies · 6,069 views · Started 17 October 2002

A while back I was in the process of sending a message when the memory became full and I had to reboot the phone. The message I was sending got stuck in the outbox and now there's no option to resend, or delete it. As a consequence the message sending symbol is permanently on my phone. I've scanned the phone with SeleQ but the messages don't seem to ordered at all so it's impossible to tell which one is the offending message. Any ideas?

Hmmm.... This has just happened to me too! Tried everything I can think of to get rid of it but no luck... I know its only a minor problem but its REALLY bugging me!!! At this rate I'll probably format my phone next week - That should get rid of it... 😞

this just happened to me too. A simple solution I found was to restore from the pcsuite . It solved the problem... Of course during restoration, you can just select to restore the DOCUMENTS only so that it just restores the mail files. Then voila, no messages stuck in OUTBOX.

Hope this helps

well okay pretty easy, but kinda hard.

SEnd all your info to your pc

sync your contacts and calander stuff

memorize (or write down!) your gprs settings and the complicated stuff

format your phone

thats by entering the code #7370#? or is it #7073#? or with *?i forgot!!
But i dunno if you lose your registered version of the software? But having bought the code you can fix it (i think)

😃

This happened to me too, what i did is to reformat the fone and restore my data from pcsuite...Hope this bug will be fixed by Nokia...😞

if someone where to backup the entire phone, then format, and then restore. would the offending symbol be gone or stay as its part of the data you backed up?

hi, i came about the same problem today aswell, but i figured out how to sort it out, if a message is stuck in your outbox, what i did was wait untill it said "resend at ..." and then was able to delete it. while it was trying to be sent, i couldn't do anything. i'm not sure if it'll fix the problem you have, but i'm sure that's it pretty much the same as what i came across today

Hope it help you guys

NK 😃

I have the same problem. I have found the message into system/mail directory (i have done a backup with PC-Suite and after i've searched for it manually with an hex editor...). I've deleted it and now if i select the undeleteable message i can't see its details... 😉
I think it's only a process to stop (with a task editor like "Switcher"😉 but the list is too long... 😞

Please help me!!!

This would be a nice feature to add on the SeleQ, or other filemanagers. Going to the path of the message. Or, delete it. This way, we can delete messages from the filemanager itself.
