Can you tell where did you buy it from?

Hi,

I bought the 9300 directly from the Nokia website in the Nokia online shop, I ordered it Thursday and it was delivered Friday.

What URL did you use to get to the page that sales 9300 directly from Nokia.com?

I cannot find it. It still sais "Comming Soon".

Why does it still say "Comming Soon" on nokia.com web site?

I see many reports of people already buying it.

Hi,

I don't know, on nokia.de there is the same picture and some time ago it had the same text with coming 1 Quarter 2005, but now the text ha gone.

I just called nokia order line and asked them about 9300. I was told that phone will not be available before March 2005.
When I told the representative that some places already sell it. He told me that this is impossible and it must be fraud or preorder only.

So thank you Nokia (AGAIN) for very useful information. 😮

🙄

Although it is not yet available in every single country, it was officially released here in Scandinavia, and other regions, two weeks ago.

Hi,

the 9300 is definetlely available since last week in Germany thru Nokia Germany, T-Mobile and some indepent dealers.

I bought my 9300 last Friday at one of the indepent dealers and I am very happy with this unit.

By the way, also the access. for the 9300 seems to be available here in Germany.
I ordered a second Accu and got it today in the mail.

Bye

I visited a Vodafone UK shop today and had a test of the 9500.
Both screens are so bright in comparison to the 9210, and the internal screen is particularly sharp. I have to say that I found no problem with the typing issue; although the keys are of course "together", unlike the 9210 where there is spacing between them, a trial typing proved fine with no more than the usual mistakes!!!
However, there is no mention of the 9300 on their system. I later dialed 191 on my phone and their call centre also has no availability details on their system.
At Carphone Warehouse it's a different situation. At the first shop I visited, the young lady thought the 9500 was a replacement for the 9300!!!! There was seemingly no details of the 9300 on her system. As I left the shop I picked up a copy of the latest edition of their magazine and found a half page feature on the 9300!!! At the 2nd CPW shop, the assistant told me that the shops didn't stock Communicators. They had over 600 shops, but only sold a "couple of hundred" Communicators so it wasn't worth stocking them. However, at the 3rd shop, surprise surprise, they had a 9500 but no working sample, and no information of when they would have a 9300. I then rang their call centre to be told that they could supply me with a 9300 immediately, but they couldn't tell me how much it would cost me!!!
Does Mr Dunstone really expect people to shell out several hundred pounds on an item without first being able to try it???
I also called at a Phones4U shop to be told that they had both phones available, however the assistant then returned to tell me that they had apparently been sold.

The 9300 is now availlable on the Carphone Warehouse website with various contracts from 70.

I like the concept of 9300 as I don't need a camera or wi-fi. The small size with a full keyboard sounds great.

However there is one thing that I don't think I can live without; the lack of vibrate! I know the excuse on the old communicators was that they were too big and heavy for a vibrate motor to be effective but surely the 9300 is small enough? I just cant hear ringtones in a crowded pub which would make it pretty useless in that environment. It was one of my biggest dislikes of the 9200.

Also I think the lack of 3G support is a big omission seeing as full web browsing is one of its biggest advantages.

What about stand-alone (external) vibrating units that are triggered by the cell phone when incoming call is initiated. Does anybody know any info about this?

Phoned CPW today. They've got 9300 in stock but only available with O2.
How long does it take Vodafone to test a handset????

Hi,

same problem for me, I also use Vodafone. Because I don't want to wait for the 9300 to come from Vodafone I bought it from Nokia. Until now I've found no problems to use it with vodafone. The only thing I wait for is that vodafone support this handy with their Blackberry service.

@dla17

I did buy a 9300 on Vodafone from CPW last week, but I have heard that they are not selling them now. Funny this as originally CPW told me that O2 had not approved the 9300 and www.mobilefun.co.uk which sells Nokia phones on O2 did not have the 9300 even as "coming soon" (and when I phones a few weeks ago no one had even heard of the "9300"😉 but were suddenly selling the 9300 last week (Tuesday) on O2.

So the plot thickens.
Is there a weird conspiracy going on to prevent folk getting the 9300??
The reason I want to buy via one of the main mobile companies is that I can get the 9300 on a contract for considerably less than the 400 odd pounds that people are paying from other sources.
I haven't even seen and handled a 9300 yet!!

WWW.NOKIA.COM (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,73,00.html) no longer has "Coming Soon" next to 9300. So I am hoping to see one in the real world soon.

hi all, if it helps anyone, i bought my 9300 on sat 29th jan at cpw in oldham centre retail park, manchester after calling cpw direct. they said they could supply them direct, but i did not want to wait so asked them where they had it, manchester market street they had one or two and the oldham one where i got mine.

It was 499 w/o contract. I paid 219.99 with contract it gets cheaper the more expensive the contract.

I had noidea they were difficult to get hold of, i struck lucky. Phone is excellent, first pda/phone i have owned and i have been waiting for this type of device for years. Bought this over 9500 as i really can't put up with 9500 size.

So far every feature works well, the only problem i am having is getting a case as i want to look after it.

regards andy.

Well I think I might just be getting to the stage where I decide to switch to a more efficient and 'on the ball' supplier.
I again visited Vodafone.co.uk earlier today and keyed in "Nokia 9300". It brought up a whole list of Nokia phones, but no mention of the 9300. I then keyed in "Nokia 9500" and again got a whole list of Nokia models, but no mention of the 9500. However, it did include a Motorola 9500, apparently a satellite thing!!
The crazy thing about that is that last week I visited a Vodafone shop and had a test of a 9500 and could have bought it there and then!!
I then phoned a CPW shop in the centre of Glasgow and was informed that they had both phones in stock and working samples, but the 9300 still only available on O2. This is obviously because Vodafone is still testing the 9300, but as Vodafone and O2 are the 2 biggest mobile phone companies in the UK, and presumably got test handsets at the same time, how come O2 have it available but not Vodafone? I would suggest it's all the more peculiar as my understanding is that both phones have the same 'guts', and if anything the 9300 is technically a simpler phone than the 9500 as it is minus the software etc for wi-fi and the camera.
I've only been with Vodafone for about 20years, so I don't suppose they'll miss me if I move to O2.

So what on earth is going on with Vodafone???
The handset isn't listed on the Vodafone site, neither is the 9500 although it's available in their shops.
CPW say it's only available with O2, because it's still being tested by Vodafone.
Expansys can supposedly supply it with a Vodafone connection. The only problem with the Expansys offer is that with Vodafone Anytime 500 they're charging 294, while Vodafone has offered me the same contract on a 9500, a dearer handset, for 189!!

Lucky you. The place where I live non of the providers have it, and no one even knows if it ever going to be available.

Squeek wrote:I bought mine from http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/5352.htm about 2 weeks ago. Was a bit nervous ordering from a company over the net I'd never heard of, but they were very good. Phone was delivered very next day from placing order over the phone.

I bought a CNT-629 cover for my 9500 in mobile-fun and it went very well.
I'm from Portugal and receive it 3-4 days after.

N242 wrote:Does anybody know when to expect Nokia 9300 in stores?

All I could get from Nokia is Q1 2005 that is a very wide window 😞

Any info about this will help.
