i have the same firmware,i called my local nokia service point & they said it would be at least a week before they have the new firmware. :icon13:
Pachi: Nokia like to look after firmware upgrades themselves,in order to do it yourself u would need to know about flashing mobiles, have a usb device like tornado UFS & then get the software which would probably be expensive :icon13:

Which problem would you like to fix by upgrading your phone's firmware (I have got the same release number) ?
The charge of your battery seems to stand at a good level.
Please keep us informed if you have your firmware upgraded.

to be honest I have not had any real problems with my vodafone 6630 accept it rebooted once during use on my first day, batt life is good,it reads the mem card every time & have changed the theme. I have ordered a generic 6630 so i can use MP3 as ringtones so hope it has newer firmware & has no problems :con?
i will advise once i get any firmware upgrades 😃
so would a firmware upgrade get rid of all the voda locked stuff and allow mp3 ringtones ect ??
No. Nokias Service Points would keep a Voda Copy of the latest Firmware. If anything it would lock the phone further stopping you from using MP4 files as ringtones as well and forcing you to use wav.

not sure but i doubt it :icon13:
Does the new version allows to have names on received sms has 'First Name' - 'Last Name'
?
There's a option for it for the address book and it would be nice if it would also reflect for the sms.... For instance, if you change the clock date display format, birthday dates will also be presented on that format
Can anybody check this sms thing?
Thanks,
k.

I've had some probs with my 6630 in the begining. I could not record video (Memory full, close some aplications), the phone was always reboting and some stuff more...
I've decided to format my memory card and now everything works just fine 😊
I can record videos, i can watch everything in real one, i can play the games that used to rebot the phone but now without the rebot!!
Everything else seems to work just fine!!
My 6630 is sim-free and can be a solution for some of your problems!!

That is the s/w version I have on my 6630, which is on Orange UK. Have to say, touch wood, so far not too many problems on my phone.
I just found out that latest firmware for the 6630 is v3.54.111 ...

newer firmware is not always the best... i had one of the first firmwares /from 18.10! and only 4-5 restarts during two months, and everything works properly....
Your also forgetting that the generic software versions can be different from network branded ones.
A great example of this was with the 6600 when they released 3.49.1 and 3.49.2 which were only used by Orange.

You upgrade the firmware best by sending or taking your phone to your nearest authorized Nokia service center. Where that is depends on where in the world you are. Start looking here, for example: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,42096,00.html
and what if there is'nt any authorized Nokia service center near, can't I do it myself I mean download it from somwhere on the net and update my firmware like what we do with SX1?
and BTW my 6630's captured image size is not more than 700KB but I found out in this Forum than thay capture images with the size about 2000KB, is it raleted to the firmware?
my firmware version is:
RM-1
v2.39.152

I don't think you can update the firmware of a Nokia phone in any other place but a Nokia service point. That's another thing I can't understand of Nokia. All new SonyEricsson phones can be updates directly by the user.
Regarding the size of the phone pictures: remember that jpeg compression depends on the picture you are taking. A picture of a tree full of leaves will be much much larger than a picture of a white wall even when using the same compression level.

Yep and yep.
😊
The latest firmware is v 4.03.18, dated 4-03-05. There is an article regarding it on allaboutsymbian. The restart problem has been fixed completely for me. Depending on the operator version, you can toggle GSM only or 3G on/off.

The last firmware for nokia 6630 is v6.03.08 (13-02-06), has anyone have the link to download it?

No, they are copyrighted so please don't ask. 😊
hi... i have a 6630 tim mobile v5.03.08...... is that the latest or i have to update? :con?
I think depend on ur area as the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) say that my phone already up-to-date (5.03.08). I heard that branded phone can't use NSU.
